Technology Lead at Infosys

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Chennai (India) – Reviewed Mar 16, 2013

Interview Details – I got a mail from Infosys for attending a technical interview. After clearing the technical interview, I was made to wait for few hours to attend HR interview. There were few negotiations on deciding the salary. The same day I was informed of my selection. The people who conducted technical interview are good. The HR person was bit rude and she misunderstood my preference of area and she recommended me for support job, which I hated. It took almost a year to change the job internally to move to another division of my choice.

Interview Question – The interview process was fairly simple and it was completely by choice, which interviewer you would get. The most difficult question was to explain an algorithm to manipulate strings to search for a substring and replace it by new string without using String's internal methods.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – On the salary front, I was able to negotiate and reach a consensus. I was only looking for Bangalore work location and though HR was hesitant at first, she agreed as I said I wouldn't accept the offer otherwise. I missed to check which unit or project they would put me in. I got support job that I hated so much. It took an year before changing my job internally.
