Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
First I had a phone interview with the HR Hiring Manager, a week later I had a phone interview with me would-be boss a week later they invited me to their Assessment Center (which consisted in an entire day at the HQ in Brussels, doing a problem simulation, then I had a case that I needed to solve and present in 4 hours, and finally another 1:1 interview with my would-be boss).
Several managers were there for the presentations and interviews, they said they used to give an entire day for the case (to present early in the morning) but this time due to lack of time it was all done in one day, other than that it was not very hard but interpersonal skills were definitely what they were looking for.

Negotiation Details
There was very little negotiation, it was more like "take it or leave it" and because of the financial situation I was in I had to take the offer.
Other Details
I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Presentation and a Skills Test.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Davidson, NC (took 2 weeks)
Very well organized and methodical process. I was given great exposure to leadership and peers through the process. This enabled me to make a very well informed decision about the company and the job.
The team was passionate about the company and very transparent about the opportunities and challenges. I left feeling very excited about Ingersoll Rand and really wanting the job.

Negotiation Details
A subtle two step back and forth process where I was presented with a couple of ways to structure the incentive comp. I would recommend that candidates be open and transparent up front regarding their compensation expectations. Ingersoll Rand offers great internal mobility, so candidates should look at any job as an investment in their career.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Presentation, a Personality Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took a day)
Was connected to the company through a LinkedIn posting. I did an initial screener with the recruiter and then was put into contact with the with the Plant Manager and Controller for the facility. From contact with the recruiter to the phone interview with actual management, it took roughly 2 weeks.
They were undergoing some major infrastructure changes and were looking for someone to help lead them through that. The inventory consisted of mainly a walk through my job history, focusing particularly on change management projects. The management team came across very knowledgable and ask some good exploratory questions. They were great listeners but also very easy to talk to. A good conversational interview.
I walked away from the interview with a good feeling, and there was interest on both sides to meet in person, but there was a hang up on salary. In the end, they felt they weren't going to be able to offer a compensation package that would convince me to leave my current employer.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 4 weeks)
I was initially contacted by a recruiter about the position. The interview process consisted of two phone discussions followed by a half day panel interview at their Corporate office. The panel interview consisted of a presentation about myself followed by a series of behavioral based interview questions. If you interview with this company, be prepared with specific work examples to backup your experience.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Baltimore, MD (took 5 days)
The hiring process was disjointed, poor communication, little regard for giving accurate interview times and did not provide the professional courtesy of even sending form letter to inform you of their decision. Very unprofessional

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took 2 days)
I was directed to the department manager I would be working under and he was the only person I talked to. He seemed fairly busy and didnt bother with cliched questions such as "describe a difficult obstacle and how you overcame it," which I appreciated. He asked about the parts of my resume that were pertinent to the job I was interviewing for then brought me down to the floor and pulled out a random engineering drawing and asked me some questions about it.
