Assistant Buyer at Initiative

No Offer – Reviewed Jan 28, 2013

Interview Details – Questions asked by human resources were pretty generic. Same question you would hear from any other interview to understand your qualifications and education. The department asked questions regarding your personality and whether you would be a fit for the team based on your experiences. However, meeting the department gives you a better understand of the position and your tasks/responsibilities.

Assistant Buyer at Initiative

Declined Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY Sep 2012 – Reviewed Nov 27, 2012

Interview Details – Filled out an online application and a week later I had a 10-15 minute phone interview about my education, background, and what I was looking for in a career. I set up an interview the next week in New York where I spoke with the recruiter and 3 to 4 employees who I would be working under. The job was something anybody could do, it is just a matter of whether or not you want to do it or if you are a good for for their team. Over and over I was told how this position was not going to be exciting, very challenging, or what you would think of when one thinks of working in advertising. I received a job offer but ultimately declined due to a low salary and the fact that the job did not seem interesting at all.

Interview Question – What's an example of when you had to organize a large amount of numerical information and how did you do it?   Answer Question

Assistant Media Planner at Initiative

No Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY – Reviewed Oct 19, 2012

Interview Details – Submitted my resume through a friend who works there, contacted by HR for an interview. Went into the office to meet with multiple team members. HR was very disorganized throughout the process and did not book a room for the interview, so it was done in the reception area which I felt was very unprofessional. I felt like the interview with the team went really well, but I never heard back from the company afterwards even after trying to contact them. The entire process did not make me want to work at Initiative and I am happy that I was able to secure a job at another agency.

No Offer – Interviewed in Los Angeles, CA Sep 2012 – Reviewed Oct 4, 2012

Interview Details – I sent in my resume and heard back about a week later. Then was scheduled for an interview for the following week. The interview took just over an hour. I met with 3 different people who are all a part of a team. They were all very nice and made me feel comfortable. The office itself has a very fun vibe with basketball hoops and video game rooms.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Los Angeles, CA Sep 2009 – Reviewed Jul 11, 2012

Interview Details – The recruiter and the panel that I interviewed with were very friendly. There were technical questions to ensure that I had the skills required of the position. Felt it was fairly easy if you are familiar with digital marketing. The panel made sure to ask questions to gauge my personality to see if I was a fit for the team.

Assistant Media Planner at Initiative

No Offer – Interviewed in Los Angeles, CA Jan 2012 – Reviewed Apr 25, 2012

Interview Details – HR was unorganized. Did not confirm interview time/dates until the very last minute. Did not return phone calls/emails.

The media teams I interviewed with were much more professional. They were easy to talk to and I felt comfortable during the entire interview. I was not offered a position, but I think that was due to my lack of knowledge about the job. Do your researcch!

Assistant Media Planner at Initiative

No Offer – Interviewed in Los Angeles, CA Jun 2011 – Reviewed Dec 23, 2011

Interview Details – I submitted an inquiry email with my cover letter and resume. A few weeks later I was contacted by a recruiter from the Los Angeles office for the Assistant Media Planner position for the Best Western account. I did a phone interview with her a few days later, which went great. She scheduled a face-to-face interview with the Senior Media Planner and Account Director. I thought the interview went okay. They were very friendly. Afterwards, the recruiter came back in to let me know they had more interviews and they would make a decision by that Friday and she'd get back to me. Well, after two weeks of waiting (I didn't want to be pushy), I finally emailed the recruiter to see what was the status of the position. After another week, she finally replied and said that the position was on hold.
