Interviewed Feb 2012 in Bloomington, IL (took a day)

I was not hired to work for this company as I am Canadian. The interviewer made a statement, whom is an American, lived in Canada at one time and could not find a job while living in Canada. He made a statement to me and said, "I guess Canadians do not hire Americans." I felt very uncomfortable and distraught at why an employer would say such a thing that was totally irrelevant to the interview.

I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview and a Skills Test.

I am a CEO in Corporate America and are very stunned as to why an individual in a position within a company delegated to hire would say such a thing, that of which is yes, very inappropriate and irrelevant to say the least. I would relay this information to a person of higher authority within that organization and state what had occurred so that it may be dealt with accordingly. If I knew someone within my company stated such things, he would not have a job that is for sure. Good for you in addressing your concerns on the net. People need to see this.

Wow - I am shocked. What a shame if that was the case you did not get hired. Its amazing why people do not get hired sometimes even if they do not say direct statements like this. How rude!!!

Thumbs down Insight Enterprises. I know who you talked to. His name is David. From what I have been told, he knows very little about the concept of how to properly interview someone. If I were you, I would contact upper management as the dude needs to wisen up!
