Recruiter at Insight Global

No Offer – Interviewed in Baltimore, MD – Reviewed Feb 22, 2013

Interview Details – Applied two separate placed - one at a career fair at my school and online. Was contacted by the recruiter and said he found my resume online and we set up a phone interview. He was very outgoing and the conversation went well. From there I went in for an in-person interview where they asked me basic behavior questions. Made it seem as if I already had an offer and basically extended the invitation for a third interview. They said that my recruiter would be in touch about moving forward by the next day. THREE weeks later I finally heard from him saying that I did not receive an offer but he was very frustrated about the news since my interviewers had nothing bad to say about me or the interview.

Interview Question – All pretty straightforward - basic sales interview questions   Answer Question

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Charlotte, NC – Reviewed Feb 18, 2013

Interview Details – I was referred by a friend to Insight Global. Initially I was called by a corporate recruiter who was awesome to speak with and very helpful through out the process. We set up a time to interview in the office. I spoke with several account managers and recruiters during the two day interview process. Everyone was very friendly, energetic, and very excited about the opportunities Insight Global has to offer. The overall interview process was very positive and a great experience.

Interview Question – No unexpected questions. More based off personality and ability to hold a conversation   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – I decided sales wasn't for me.

No Offer – Interviewed in Feb 2013 – Reviewed Feb 16, 2013

Interview Details – Met with a recruiter on campus and was invited to have an in office interview. Met with 3 different account managers and was extremely causal. Stressed questions about the company not questions about you. No behavioral questions at all.

Was then invited back for a lunch interview with 2 account managers. Again, no behavioral questions just why insight global, why sales, that type of stuff.

Declined Offer – Interviewed in San Diego, CA – Reviewed Feb 15, 2013

Interview Details – Pretty basic interview process. Comprise of the following:

1) Phone Interview:
First, I received a phone call about a day or two after submitting my resume. Phone interview was very conversational, nothing technical, very easy and lasted about 15 mins. Basically we just talked about what my interests were and she gave me the basic info on the company/job.

2) Personal Interview:
After the phone interview they scheduled me for an interview face to face. Again, a very conversational interview with 2 sales managers. Basically they just told me more about the company and what they do and answered any questions I asked regarding the position. The interviewers didn't ask anything technical or even really look or ask about my resume, which kind of surprised me. The interview finished up after about 40 mins and they said they would be in contact with me.

3) Follow Up:
I sent an email to the interviewers and the girl that gave me the phone interview just thanking them for their time and following up and I received a call within a couple of days. She said they were interested in bringing me in for a second interview but asked if sales was really what I was interested in. She gave me about a week to think about it and I ended up declining the second interview because I had other job interests I wanted to pursue.

4) Overall, the interview process was very casual and easy with ZERO technical questions. They really just look for people they think would be a good fit for the position, so more personality than technical related. It is a total sales job, so unless you're really interested in sales I wouldn't suggest going to an interview. Everyone I dealt with was very nice and accommodating, I just wasn't the right fit for the position in my mind. Also, I had read some negative things online and from friends that had previously worked for this company and I was turned off by that. So be sure to do some research of your own on the company before applying.

Interview Question – What motivates you?   View Answer

Reason for Declining – I did not receive an offer but declined a second interview because I did not want to pursue sales.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in San Jose, CA Apr 2012 – Reviewed Feb 15, 2013

Interview Details – Insight Global has a great interview process. It is very conversational and from the first interview it was apparent to me this was a company I wanted to be a part of. They want you to ask questions and provide lots of insight into the company. After speaking with several people in the office, you are painted a picture of how great life at Insight Global is! When I was interviewing, I was going to school full time and had a job, they worked with my schedule and were great at scheduling interviews with my hectic schedule. I couldn't be happier with my decision to join the Insight Global team, and with all of the opportunity I have been given!

Interview Question – The interview process is seamless- be yourself and ask questions!   Answer Question

No Offer – Interviewed in Dallas, TX Dec 2012 – Reviewed Feb 7, 2013

Interview Details – Initial phone interview with a corporate recruiter. I was invited to the office for a face-to-face interview. I met 3 people, all of which seemed very snobby. They were more interested if I partied or not than if I was qualified for the position. They seemed as if they knew if they wanted to hire me or not before I even got there. Waste of time. Also, they sugar coated the money and made it sound way better than it was in reality. Left feeling like I was not a good fit and overqualified.

No Offer – Interviewed in San Francisco, CA May 2012 – Reviewed Jan 29, 2013

Interview Details – I earned a business degree from a college that requires an option (accounting, finance,, management, hr, etc.) Sales is not one of the options and when I mentioned this during a phone screening, the woman tried to tell me they offer a sales option at my college. I went there. I think I know what degrees and options my school has. That was pretty irritating. Went to the interview and talked with a woman for about 20 minutes. Didn't care for her or the job.

No Offer – Interviewed in Bellevue, WA Jan 2013 – Reviewed Jan 19, 2013

Interview Details – Never been to an interview where experience is detrimental. This company only hires right out of college grads. That should probably raise a red flag right there. I was first contacted by a recruiter over the phone who was very friendly. She set up an in office interview. At the office, I first met with the sales manager. He was young. kind of rude, and looked upset to be there. He glanced over my resume and didn't ask me one question. The entire interview is set up so you ask them questions. We talked for about 45 minutes and the sales manager seemed much more interested in talking about football then the position. Every time I began to talk about my experience his interest would fade. Finally, I asked if he had any questions for me. He said no and quickly left the room.

I then was set up to speak with an Account Manager, who was very honest about the position. He said that while you can make good money if you work hard enough, the job takes up a majority of your life and there are much more lows then highs. He said his personal life has taken a major hit from the job. Never got such honest advice from an interview. After the interview, I got a rejection e-mail the next day, and I can live with that.
