Interviewed Jan 2012 in Indianapolis, IN (took 6 weeks)
From initial contact through the end, the HR people were very helpful and professional. The process consisted of two phone interviews, a tour of their facilities, a group/panel where the applicants were able to ask questions of employees, a brief meeting with a VP, and a series of 1:1 interviews with employees holding various levels in the hierarchy of the applied for position. Everything except the phone interviews happened on one day. The overall time was likely only due to the holidays at that time of year. The interviewers asked questions ranging from "explain TCP/IP" to scenario based questions to judge your thinking process.
From start to almost finish, I have no complaints. Why I felt this company would do me the courtesy of giving a more detailed rejection, when few if any companies do, I don't know. Probably because that is the level of assistance their HR had shown me prior to rejection. What happened in this case was, HR sent a system generated rejection response to my email and then cut off communications. I sent a thank you and polite request for additional information, but received no response. If rejecting someone because you no longer have a position available for them to fill, it would be helpful to know we did nothing wrong in the interviews or maybe one or two pointers on how we could improve. If we did do or say something wrong at some point, knowing this will allow us to correct it for the next potential employer. The interview process was detailed enough that this should not be a difficult prospect, and it would go that extra mile to demonstrate that, even though you chose not to hire someone, you still respect them enough to help them improve before continuing their job search.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Indianapolis, IN (took a day)
Emails between recruiting team and my referral. Then had around a 4 hour interview with 5 different people. Mostly general technology questions and personality/customer service questions. They give NO feedback on your answers and are told to do so. This is intimidating. Work culture is very lax.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Irvine, CA (took a day)
I had an interview with this company for 3 hours. it was a total of 4 interviewers 1:1. 2 Personality interviews and 2 technical interviews. Over all it was a pleasant experience. They ask you questions about your personality and require you to tell a anecdote about a time in which you exhibited a certain characteristic. The technical interview questions are very relevant to the position I was interviewing for. They were also quite tricky. Be sure to know your material. Very pleasant interview experience with very pleasant people!

Interviewed Mar 2008 in Indianapolis, IN (took a day)
Communications from the outset were very strong. I never had any questions about what was to happen or when. Their HR department was very thorough in ensuring I had all the materials and information that I needed. Once on site, initial perceptions of the company were professional, but laid back. In fact, I had not seen a company that allowed their employees such inner-office freedoms. The overall interview process was very thorough, but not terribly intense. Some basic technical and personality based items were covered that anyone could expect at an interview of this nature. People were very friendly and eager to answer questions.
