Interviewed Sep 2007 in Beverly Hills, CA (took a day)
The hiring process was very informal. A friend recommended me for the job because she was leaving the job to go to a production company. As a result, she asked if I would like the job, and after saying yes, she set up the interview. The interview lasted about 30 minutes and my boss really wanted to see if we would get along since we'd be working together for at least 10 hours a day. He made a point of saying that writers, directors, and actors could be learned, so the personal connection was the most important. We got along and he offered me the job on the spot.

Negotiation Details
The going rate was $450 a week (plus over time) and I managed to negotiate up to $500. You'll always hear the same "everyone would kill to have this job," but since there are so many agents out there, you have many chances at finding the right fit. Don't settle and do consider the reputation of the agent you'll be working for - it does matter. The better the reputation and clients, the farther you'll get because you'll be talking to more important people.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.
