Interviewed Feb 2012 (took 2 days)
Put in an application on the JB Hunt website. Recruiter called me and asked to setup a phone interview. The phone interview was brief and no questions were unexpected. The basic point of it was to make sure you meet the minimum qualifications. At the end of the phone interview, the recruiter asked if I would come down in person to interview with two of the hiring managers.
I arrived for the in person interview and was escorted inside by a friendly employee who chatted with me while waiting. The in person interview actually consisted of two seperate interviews back to back.
At the beginning of the first interview the gentleman explained to me the basic premise of the job. You will be overseeing a group of truck drivers and responsible for such issues ranging from making sure they are paid on time to the logistics of getting the trucks and supplies where they need to be on time. I was told that the hardest part of the job for a new hire can be learning the software system the company uses. They state that most of their business is in other things besides traditional trucking such as intermodal transportation. They also do a lot of 3PL for other companies.
The questions asked were pretty basic such as: "why jb hunt"? "what does leadership mean to you?" "what are you looking for in a company?"
However, I was asked a few questions I felt were unprofessional. Such as asking when I graduated high school and inquiring into my marital status.
The second interviewer came in later and asked some more basic questions. He told me they were promoting a lot of other individuals soon and would need several replacements to fill their old supervisor roles. I was told that in two weeks I'd be notified whether I got the job or not, and true to their word in two weeks I got an email saying I wasn't selected.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 1 week)
received call from human resources. reviewed my background and experience. asked some questions regarding my resume. she then set up a personal interview with the hiring manager. the hiring manger was twenty years younger. he was pleasant and he talked about the position. but he asked me very little about my experience or background. at that point I knew that age was an issue. if you are over fifty forget it.
