I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 3 days - interviewed at J. C. Penney.

Interview Details – I was initially interviewed as a contractor and didn't have an interview since then. The interview was extremely simple: One interview, a few questions, hired on the spot.

Negotiation Details – My contracting agency negotiated everything for me. I didn't really have to do any of that with JCPenney myself.

Loss Prevention Investigator Interview

I applied online and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at J. C. Penney in September 2013.

Interview Details – I submitted three applications via the JCP website for other positions but never received a response. I applied to this position via lpjobs.com and received a phone interview 3 days later with the LP Manager. I had an in-person interview with that same manager two weeks later and then a phone interview with a manager at the corporate office one week after that.

JCPenney uses the behavioral interview centering around specific situations a person has been in, what actions the person took, and the results of the actions. This takes a lot of self-awareness and I recommend conducting an interview of the many types of environments you've been in and what you did to make it better.

Interview Question – All of the questions start with "Tell me a time when..."   Answer Question
