Easy Interview
Overall Positive Experience Received and Accepted Offer

Interviewed Oct 2008 in Chicago, IL (took a day)

An on campus interview by an alum, which was relaxed and surprisingly fast. Asked why I want to work in the finance industry, how does JPMC make money, which threw me off a little. Then went over my resume. Was asked a brain teaser at the end, which wasn't incredibly difficult. Heard back that I got the internship only 2 weeks later.

This was my first on campus interview, so I had no idea what to expect and was quite surprised I got an offer.

Interview Questions

Why do you want to work for JPMC?
How does JPMC make money?

Negotiation Details

I didn't negotiate, but got my location changed from NYC to chicago.

Other Details

The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Personal Banker at JPMorgan Chase

Easy Interview
Overall Positive Experience Interviewed and No Offer

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Dallas, TX (took 2 weeks)

I applied online and after two weeks or so I received an e-mail from a recruiter, I replied that day and received a response the next business day setting up a phone interview the next day. I felt like a fell flat on my face on the phone interview, but THAT SAME DAY I received a phone call from the Branch Manager and went in for an in person interview. I felt like I did well, but I was barely qualified, as I am young, which I believe was my downfall. Or maybe they already had someone in mind, and were just doing the required number of interviews.

They ask extensive questions about your sales experience... You have to do roleplaying. It's not so bad. Then they ask you how you would convince somebody to be become your customer. Basically if you have ever had to sell anything before, you will know the answers. Be aware that the dress is extremely formal. No polo shirts and khakis here.

Interview Questions

What would you say to a customer to convince them to let you be their personal banker?
What was your most successful sale in your life?

Other Details

I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Skills Test.

The online application also included an assesment test. The assesment test is very easy as long as you read the questions and have a basic calculator. After finishing the application I was called within 3 days to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview came first and thats where they asked the behavioral questions. I was called withing 2 days with an offer.

Interview Questions

Negotiation Details

I did not try to negotiate the salary offer.

Marketing Associate at JPMorgan Chase

Easy Interview
Overall Positive Experience Received and Accepted Offer

Interviewed Feb 2007 in Wilmington, DE (took 1 week)

The interview process was fairly straightforward. I was coming out of college and looking for my first job. The process was to have an initial interview on campus with a rep from Chase, if selected, you would then be brought to the main office to have 3 or 4 interviews with some more senior folks. All went well, were very conversational (save one interviewer who asked the cliche questions; i.e. "Biggest flaw?" etc.), and left me feeling pretty good overall.

Interview Questions

What has been your greatest challenge so far.

Negotiation Details

Hard to negotiate during these economic times. Good luck.

Other Details

The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.
