I applied in-person and the process took 4 days - interviewed at Jacob in March 2013.
Interview Details – Went in and asked if they were hiring, was told no but dropped off a resume anyways. The next day I got a call from the manager to come in the next day for an interview. (Unorganized) So I went in and had to wait for a few minutes until the manager was ready. Went to the back room with her and had my interview.... It was pretty short and I felt like I couldnt finish my answers before she began asking me the next question. Asked me about 20 questions, all of which were asked off of a booklet, and she wrote down all of my answers. I left not feeling very positive on the interview and expected to hear from them again. 2 days later I recieved a call saying they were offering me the poisition and where going to pay me .50c more then what I had asked for.
Interview Question – Not really, All were pretty normal "tell me about your last job? what did you learn from there? why do you want work here? Most unusual question would have been when she asked me what was a project I did at work, school, or home that I was the most proud of. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There wasn't a negotiation phase, she asked my availability and that was fine and then told me the approximate amount of hours I would get each week. I asked for $11 an hour, and then when I was offered the job they offered $11.50
I applied in-person and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Jacob in July 2012.
Interview Details – The interview was broken into three parts. The first if I remember correctly was to share past experiences about how I dealt with customers, how I resolved conflicts with people, how I approached customers. Second part was my opinions on the difference between customer service and selling. Third was more like role playing. The interviewer gave me a few pieces of clothing and wanted me to mix and match them for specific occasions.
Interview Question – Not really difficult. Just relax. If you have generally a good taste in fashion it should be no problem. Last question was a bit surprising. They ask you what are your values in life and thats open ended. Answer Question
