applied online and called in for a 1:1 interview with store manager. the process was very simple, but this was before the economy tanked,so i am assuming it is more difficult now to get a job here. it was very easy. form the time i applied online to my interview to my first day was maybe 3-4 weeks. it was that easy.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 2 months)
I first applied online for the position of Management Trainee and it allowed me to pick my preferred option between Jewel and Osco. It wasn't until about 2 months later before I got a call back to be interviewed over the phone. Then after talking on the phone I was invited to an interview in Itasca with a recruiter. That was a one on one interview discussing my background a little bit about the position. Then, I was invited to an interview with the HR manager which was little more involved with harder on task questions about the position. Make sure this is a position you're interested in because they will be honest about how much work it is. Then, I was called to let me know that I had an offer and I came in to the office once again to be given the offer, had a few days if I wanted to think it over but I accepted right away. I believe there was 48 hours to do a drug test, went right to the one in Schaumburg right after the interview and was let now my placement about a week before my start date.

Interviewed Jun 2011 (took a day)
I was called on a Friday for a Monday interview. I went in and was asked basic questions like, "You're new and a customer asks you where something you don't know where is at, what do you do?" The manager interviewing me seemed nice at the time. After a few more questions and a brief description of the job tasks, bagging, pushing carts, cleaning, etc., I was offered the job at minimum wage and I accepted. After signing some paper work, I was then asked to take a drug test and then was told I would receive a phone call regarding orientation. After about a week, I was orientated and then started work a few days later.

Interviewed Sep 2008 in Spring Grove, IL (took 4+ weeks)
You apply in the store on a computer first. It's a basic personality test that takes your information. You'll get a call from the store if they want you for an interview (at this point, you've basically already gotten the job). You go into the office and have a short conversation before the interviewer asks for some more information. She'll ask you to get a drug test by the end of the next day. That's basically the end of it.
