Declined Offer – Interviewed in Barrington, IL May 2013 – Reviewed May 21, 2013 New
Interview Details – I applied for a job at the JJ's in my town during March. Randomly at the end of May I got a phone call on a Monday night asking if I was still interested, and if I'd be able to interview the next morning. I gladly accepted and was feeling pretty hopeful about the whole thing. When I showed up the next morning, the manager who interviewed me was very rushed and rude from the start. My interview started at 10:45 am and ended at 10:48 am. It was a huge waste of my time. He sat me down, told me I was one of 20 he was interviewing in the next two days, that he wanted to put me at a store 30 min away (my application was for the one in my town...), and that he wanted me to deliver. He rudely told me I would have to take out my nose ring (I already knew this) because they are "super strict". The only questions he asked me were 1. Was I in school? (My application stated that I am) 2. Would I want to work nights or days? and 3. Was I willing to deliver. When I told him I was willing to but it wasn't optimal, he basically gave me a short lecture on why they need so many drivers, and that I wouldn't get a job with them if I didn't deliver. When I stated my concern involving car insurance and having to be "freaky fast", he simply stated that they don't cover you on insurance, but if you get into an accident, they rush someone else to the site of the accident to take away all your JJ's stuff...as if their lack of concern for employees and dishonesty was supposed to make me feel better.
Interview Question – Like I said, all he asked about was school, when my preferred shifts would be and if I was willing to deliver. Nothing difficult or unexpected there. Answer Question
Reason for Declining – Driving 25 miles away for a minimum wage job is less than ideal for me. Overall, I don't like what the company stands for what with lack of health coverage/insurance for delivery drivers, and the manager was so rude to me that no offer would have gotten me to sign on.

Interview Details – Applied online. A week later I got a call to come for an interview. Had a interview with two Managers. They pretty laid back. They want me to introduce myself and asked about my past jobs experiences, what kind of car I have, and my availability. After that, they give me a menu guide to memorize the Sandwiches for the Sandwich test I need to take for the next couple of days. You need 80% or better to be considered for this job. As couple days goes by, I took the Sandwich Test and give it to one of the Managers and he said that I passed it and want me to come in the next day for paperwork.
Interview Question – No difficult questions. They just want to know what kind of jobs you have in the past and why you stopped working there. Answer Question

Interview Details – Very simple, one time interview. Was called two-three days after turning in application. Semi-formal attire (Khakis and collared shirt). Asked how I would handle certain situations, if I was a student, what I was studying, when I was available to work. Unfortunately, the available shifts were mostly closing (10-4am). The manager was nice and the interview was simple and not stressful.
Interview Question – What would you do if a customer complains about their sandwich even if you know its what they ordered? View Answer

DAY 1. I walked inside Jimmy John's and asked for an application. Everyone there was pretty much around my age, give or take a few years, so the environment was really, really chill. The application barely had anything on it. It didn't ask for schooling, job experience, or references. All it asked for was your name, address, and if you're at least 16.
DAY 1 (Later that day...) I came back that afternoon with the application filled out, but to my surprise, instead of just taking it and saying they will let me know, the manager asked me to sit down in one of the booths for a quick interview. It threw me off because I wasn't even dressed nicely, just my normal attire. And on top of that, I had someone waiting in the car for me. I didn't want to risk not getting the job by asking to reschedule, so I sat down and went on with the interview. The manager wasn't that much older than me, maybe early to mid 20s and he talked as if he were still in high school, using a lot of slang and swear words (Which I don't really care for).
During the interview, he would ask me weird questions like what is my favorite car (I'm guessing it was because I was applying for a Delivery position?) and he asked me simple questions about my work ethics as if he had to ask them. He was a really cool guy, and he asked me to come back tomorrow. Again, it threw me off guard, but in a good, happy way because I was in desperate need of a job.
DAY 2. I came back and the same guy gave me a list of the menu and told me to study it to know how to make the sandwiches. That was pretty much it, so I just went home and studied it with the impression that if I memorized everything, he would hire me.
DAY 3. I walked inside Jimmy John's, but the guy wasn't there, so I talked to another manager and she sat me down for another interview. She had a white folder with a bunch of paper work for me sign and she told me I got the job. After all the paper work, the general manager came by and asked if I could start working, right then and there. I hated to tell him I couldn't that exact moment, but he was okay with it. So, I started working the next day.

Interview Details – I mean it is a simple job. They take you in for a goup or 1 on 1 interview. Just be honest, they hire pretty much anyone.
Interview Question – Nothing was very difficult, they take everything way too seriously. I guess the most unexpected question was why I thought I was a rockstar (their whole hiring ad) View Answer
Negotiation Details – There was none. Minimum wage.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Augusta, GA Jun 2012 – Reviewed Mar 17, 2013
Interview Details – When I came in to apply for the job, the manager said they weren't currently hiring, though there was a "Now Hiring" sign in the window. I talked with him for a minute or two, and explained I could only work for 2 months, as I would have to leave for College. After I left, he actually came out to my car to tell me he'd give me an interview, because he thought I was a "Good Guy". I had to get a 7 year vehicle background check from the DMV, and complete a 2 sided application. When I came in for the Interview, I asked to talk with the manager, and he sat with me in the corner to talk. We went over the paperwork I had filled out, he took a copy of my Driver's License and Insurance, and said I got the job, and to come in tomorrow to train. Overall, the hardest part was getting through the DMV.
Interview Question – "Do you see yourself staying with the company for a long time?" - I knew "no" was the wrong answer, but honestly I knew I only had 2 months, but the manager didn't seem to mind. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I was offered 7.25/hour if I memorized the menu, 6.25 if I didn't. I accepted the starting pay of 6.25.

Saw ad on craigslist, waited until after the lunch rush then went in to apply. The friendly cashier lady told me the GM wasn't in but would be back shortly. I filled out the app and waited. When the GM arrived I introduced myself then we went over my job application. He asked me If i had ever ate at JJ(which I had just ate there that day)Then asked me if I had any delivery experience.
He then explained to me the expectations of a delivery driver: example running to and from your car when your carrying the delivery, not speeding etc. He told me about how many hours he was looking to fill.
After all that the gm asked me when I could start, and since I was able to start ASAP he told me to come in the next day and fill out paperwork, bringing in my license/insurance/social security card and said I would be starting the day after that. He didnt ask me to memorize the menu
Interview Question – He asked me If i had ever ate at JJ View Answer
Negotiation Details – Our delivery drivers make the same as sandwich artists; minimum wage
