Interviewed May 2010 in San Antonio, TX (took a day)
The process was really easy. I applied in store, got a phone call the next week to set up an appointment for the interview. When I came in everyone was really friendly and welcoming. We proceeded to the back office sat down one on one and just chatted. The rules and expectations were told to me upfront so there were no surprises at all when I started work. I started the next week.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Bel Air, MD (took 5 weeks)
Interview process was simple. Met with an individual whom asked what hours I was available, when could I start and if I had any sewing experience. That was the entire interview. I felt that the individual interviewing me was not prepared. The individual did not have my application available and had to send another manager to fine the completed application. However, with all due respect for the interviewer, the individual that was originally scheduled to interview me was not available. Therefore, the actual interviewer was substituted as the last minute. The actual interviewer did the best she could considering the circumstances.

Although I did not negotiate a salary, I would recommend others do. It never hurts to ask. I was simply looking for a part-time job to give me something to do after retirement.
Other Details

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Memphis, TN (took a day)
I was simply asked to describe myself. Then they asked why I wanted to be a part of the JoAnn team. I told them a bunch of crap about arts and crafts. They asked if I had any sewing or crafting experience, which I do. Then they wanted to know my availability. It was simple.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Hudson, OH (took 4 days)
Phone Interview followed by in person interview by three interviews on the same day. Comfortable interview however I felt like they already had filled the job with an internal candidate. I do respect a company that promotes from within however I would prefer not to be interviewed if they already know the plan.

Interviewed Apr 2009 in Sacramento, CA (took 2 days)
The 1 on 1 is straight forward. Most of Jo-Ann's managers are very knowedgeable in their field and the place has more of a familt atmosphere than big corporate. The next step is the presentation and a sort of scavenger hunt through the store. They try to make it fun.
