Interviewed Sep 2010 in Baltimore, MD (took 2 days)
Two interviews one was one on one the other was a panel interview. Just be honest, they can usually spot people who fake things, if not in the interview later on during everyday work habits

Interviewed Jan 2011 (took 2 days)
The interview lasted for two days. I talked with about 20 different people, each one for about 30 min. The people here are generally nice. However, they might ask you some trick questions. The questions differ person by person. I also had to give two different seminars, one about my current work and the other about my future plan.

Interviewed Aug 2009 in Baltimore, MD (took a day)
After submitting an application online, the boss I was going to work for called me on my cell phone (this was not scheduled ahead of time) and asked me several questions about my resume. It was straightforward and there were no typical interview questions. Questions mainly pertained to my experience and what I expected to do and learn on the job.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Baltimore, MD (took 3 weeks)
Found the job through staffing agency. Great workplace, very kind staff and managers. An overall pleasant experience even though I didn't get the job. They kind of overdid it with an almost 2 hour interview, made me repeat the same things to almost all of the staff, since they interviewed me seperately, but I guess it's just how they work.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Baltimore, MD (took 2 months)
I initially completed the application online on October 1, 2011. I was emailed on October 14th by the Clinic Manager who requested a callback to schedule an interview. We scheduled an interview for October 14th. It was a 1:1 interview with the clinic manager who I will be directly reporting to.
The clinic manager didn't really stick to the "script". she just asked general employment questions and she explained some of the current issues within the clinic and asked me how I would handle them. In closing, she told me that she was very pleased with the interview, she asked what my salary expectations were and then she told me that I would hear from someone in regards to scheduling an interview with her boss.
The next day, the Clinic Manager emailed me asking for 3 references from my past supervisors and a copy of my most recent performance evaluation. After she obtained the references and eval, I was then contacted to interview with her boss who is the administrator. Meeting with the administrator was a tough interview. she questioned whether I had any disciplinary actions on the job or write-ups, and she really wanted to make sure I was an overall great fit.
A week later, I was contacted by the clinic manager and offered the position. I gladly accepted and was told that HR would contact me to schedule orientation and the pre-employment process. HR called me 4 days later and scheduled me to come in and meet with them and occuaptional health. I still had not gotten my start date which I was very frustrated about.
That day, HR emailed me a million papers to fill out which included references checks from past employers, criminal background check, credit check and education verification consents. I filled all of those forms out and fxed them to HR.
The following week, I went to HR and met with them where they gave me my start date and new hire packet. After I met with them, I went upstairs to my appointment with occupational health. Occupational health visit was 2 hours long. Blood was drawn, I had to give a urine specimen to test for diabetes problems, and received several vaccinations which included a tetnus shot! I had to go back to employee health 2 days later to get my PPD read and receive 2 more vaccinations.
Now I sit here November 19th waiting to see if everything checked out ok. JHU is a very slow organization. It is a 2-3 month process. Its frustrating because I don't know if my employment offer is final yet. I haven't heard from JHU since last Monday.
I'm nervous because it seems like they expect you to be a perfect person. They are requiring so much.
- Criminal Background for the last 7 years
- Credit Check
-Educational verification (which includes GPA)
-No drug test but urine specimen to test for blood sugar and kidney problems
-Vaccinations - or no job
-Oh..and I had to present a letter from my MD stating that I am not suffering from depression. All because I told the Occupational Health Nurse that I was on depression mediciation a few years ago. It's a mess and no one should have to go through all of this for a job. *Second Thoughts* :-(

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Baltimore, MD (took 4 months)
The initial recruitment for this position came as an e-mail from the current clinical research coordinator to my academic program. I forwarded my resume and was asked to travel to Baltimore for an in-person interview with the current coordinator and the research supervisor. The interview was relatively brief, both interviewers stated that they hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, and concluded with a tour of the department. I followed up several times via e-mail and phone and was told that a decision was still being made. Two months following my interview and having heard nothing, I made another inquiry only to be told that someone else had been hired. The supervisor mentioned that several other research coordinator positions were available and encouraged me to apply for them. I traveled to Baltimore again and met with the supervisor and the principal investigator. I discussed the available positions with the Principal Investigator for 45 minutes and was told that a decision would be made by the end of the week. After hearing nothing at the end of the week, I inquired as to the decision timetable and was told that I would have a decision by that Friday. Again, I heard nothing and waited another week before asking again. I was made to feel that I was bothering them for trying to get an answer after being given a decision timetable and was told that I would hear something soon, that was eight weeks ago. Overall, it was a negative experience with extremely poor communication. I do not expect to be treated like a nuisance when I am following up after being given a decision timeline.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Baltimore, MD (took a day)
The phone interview was conducted by what I believed the lead researcher himself. The day before the phone interview, he already set up the day and time for the face-to-face interview. I feel like I didn't have a say in it, but just had to agree with it. After the face-to-face interview, I was offer the job rather quickly, with a poor salary offer. I had to ask for additional employment information and the lead researcher gave me the run around and word-of-mouth kind of answers. While I was going through information packages with the HR, the lead researcher emailed me and told me that since I didn't reply to his offer in time, he's going to give it to someone else. I was not told that I have less than 6 days to make my decision. The HR was friendly, but this "future boss" is inconsiderate and unprofessional.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
The person (also my then-future-boss) who interviewed me seems to have lack of experience on interviewing people, but it was not bad. However, after exchanging a few emails with him, it was apparent that this person is rather contradictory. He offered me the job and told me to take my time to think about it, then didn't give me the time to consider. That to me is a red flag - a boss who doesn't keep his word. Anyone is better off finding something better in this case. You can't survive in Maryland with such a low salary anyway.
Nonetheless, Johns Hopkins would be a good place to work. There are many talented people in there. This is just one of the rare cases that could have happened anywhere.
