Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 days)
I met with the district manager first and he was very laid back and the interview was very conversational. The following day I met with the store manager. She was in ripped denim shorts and flip flops, so unprofessional. She brought a binder and flipped from page to page reading word for word stereotypical interview questions. Many I answered several different times and many did not apply to the job. Dont ask about school when I have 15 years of experience.

Reason for Declining
The offer was $120 (one hundred and twenty, there are no numbers missing) a week plus a small commission (4%). And then every Tuesday and then every other Sunday off averaging about 55 hours a week. And no vacations. So I shouldn't have a life and make crappy pay? um no thanks.
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took a day)
The interview was pleasent. I was interviewed by the area manager. She was really nice. She really liked me and the interview was pretty casual. She liked my experience and the fact I was educated. She wanted something different. Then she wanted me to go international for the company after 6 months, and even suggested that I should go into the legal team for the company in the future if I desired to attend law school (That's what I want to do in the near future). My problem was the schedule. I liked the fact it was a chill and relaxed job, but it just wasn't for me. I was offered the position on the spot.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
It really wasn't going to be enough pay. They pay based on commission. It was a risk. Plus, I had school and I was offered a better position from another company that I could see myself going further.
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Jan 2011 (took a day)
Me and my boyfriend walked in to apply, but at separate times. I've never had a job before and he had a decent amount of job experience. 10 minutes after he filled out and turned his application in, I walked in and did so too. I was given an interview on the spot. The manager asked basic easy interview questions and I was given the job. The interview was informal.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Eatontown, NJ (took a day)
First, the manager of the store pulled me aside to ask a few questions. The questions were really easy like "what would you do if you saw an employee steal?" and things like that. She also asked some personality questions like "if you could choose one animal to describe yourself, which would you choose?" and "Name 3 pros and 3 cons of yourself."
After the interview, I was immediately offered the job, and started working. I then had to do a little role-playing where the manager pretended she was a customer and I had to help her out.
Overall, the process was really easy. But my manager was really laid-back and young so that may had something to do with it.

Negotiation Details
It was my first job, so I didn't have the courage to negotiate. I was offered minimum wage ($7.15 at the time) and she told me about how easy it was to get a raise if you work hard. I was the employee (with the best sales numbers) for two years and I never got a raise. :(

Interviewed May 2011 (took a day)
I went online, applied for a job at Journeys.
I got a phone call the next day and they told me they wanted to interview me.
I accepted the offer.
They called me back, and told me the interview would take place a different location.
I went to that specific location, and I told them I am there for a interview, and they all seemed puzzled, like they were not expecting me. :/
They made me fill out an application, and something else that shows what kind of person you are ... like are you quiet, this and that.. blah blah. I filled that out too.
Then we sat down at the food court with the manager, and she asked me what I did at my previous job, and why I want to work at Journeys and stuff like that.
They also told me they work commission.
NO thanks ;)

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Kansas City, MO (took 2 weeks)
I knew a kid that worked at a nearby store. I used to go in and help him finish his work so he could come hang out earlier in the evening. I already knew everything one needs to know to work there. I already knew the manager from all the times I'd helped out my friend. I needed a job. It was only logical that I work at Journeys.
The paperwork itself took two weeks to process. The actual "interview" was not an interview at all. Simply a smoke break and a half-assed conversation because the entire staff already knew me. It was a done deal the moment the idea was conceived.
