Interviewed Aug 2011 in Fair Oaks, CA (took a day)
Basically, it was a "come-in-and-we'll-interview" type of deal. The interviewer was friendly, and even tried to help me by telling me what kind of answers the company likes to hear. We then went through the interview again. I don't know if that was a good or bad thing.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Edinburgh, Scotland (United Kingdom) (took 1 week)
Interviewed in restaurant area. Fairly easy interview, asked scenario-style questions and when I was able to work. Interviewer jotted down notes and asked for examples of good customer service.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
- Applying process: internet application, with information about yourself, CV and cover letter in enclosed files.
- The company called me to agree on a date for the interview.
- Planning of the interview: gathering information on the website, about their activity, their products, history, sustainable development, and so on, so as to understand the functioning of the company, as well as write down questions to be asked.
The interview: it was a simple face-toface interview, during which the manager at first asked me to present myself, my studies, my internships, work experience and other knowledge and skills. Then I had to explain why I chose that partciular company and that particular kind of job. I had to answer other questions. Finally, I had to ask my questions.
The manager was rather cool, yet too passive in my opinion. But not at all strict or opressive and "too present". He gave me the time to express myself, and listened carefully, writing down notes on a sheet of paper. The interview was held in the eating area of the restraunt, so it was a rather "cool" atmosphere.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took a day)
I decided that even though I am a vegetarian, I would try a KFC open interview because it'd be a great way to bypass the tedious process of (a) submitting an application, and (b) hoping for a call for an interview. The interview was in the lobby, right next to the door. I felt that this was a little distracting since people are always entering and exiting. There were two people in front of me, so I listened to their questions (and answers) until it was my turn. Prior to this, I had printed out an application from online, and the manager seemed impressed. I also included my resume. Several of the questions did surprise me, but they were really easy.
I felt like the manager and I had experienced "flow", and he said that while he wasn't allowed to instantly hire me, I might hear from him the next day (Thursday), and if not, then definitely on Monday. Well, I didn't hear from him on Thursday, so I called on Monday and he said that he had been to a conference where they were told that business was down and as a consequence they had to stop hiring, and start firing. So I didn't get the job, but they will keep my application on file.
