Interviewed Feb 2012 in Milpitas, CA (took 4+ weeks)
The interviewer went through my resume. Ask questions about the research I am doing and all the instruments I am using. Very nice guy. Then he explained the working principle of their products and the duties of application engineering. After the interview, it was a long process of waiting. I haven't heard anything from them yet (1.5 month after the interview).

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Rochester, NY (took a day)
I got this interview after attending a career fair at my University. I handed off my resume and received an email from University Relations the next day offering me a half hour interview slot.
The interview was a very warm one. My interviewer was very friendly and seemed to enjoy the fast-pace, competitive work environment associated with the semiconductor industry. He was very intelligent and articulated that the company expected large growth in the next five years. He said that he was interviewing over 35 people for two paid positions and one unpaid position. They expect a lot from each member of their team.

Interviewed May 2010 in Milpitas, CA (took 3 weeks)
Dropped my resume in the University Career Fair. Several months later, the University Relation department contacted me asking about my interest with the Application Engineer Position. Asked me to respond the email with answers of some behavior questions. Such as why semiconductor area etc.
Then a phone interview is arranged with a senior engineer, went through my resume and then asked me a very easy brainteaser.
Then an onsite interview, the travel arrangement is very effective and convenient. The onsite interview consists of five 1:1 interview (we had 5 candidates too, so it was rotating room by room). Mostly behavior questions, questions about resume, some easy brainteaser. Since the position is about to help the clients with problems of KLA-tencor's machine, be prepared about questions about communication. One of the 1:1 interview is a skill test about image processing, it is not very difficult.

Interviewed May 2011 in Hopewell Junction, NY (took 4 weeks)
I received a phone call to setup an appointment for a phone interview. Phone interview was quite normal. General behavioral questions. Then, a question to test if you can think quickly and clearly. The question was 'If you are asked to remove one state from the US, which one would you remove and why?'. I was selected for the on-site interview and was flown in a couple of weeks later. I had 5 1:1 interviews. There was one skills test. They'll teach you something about image processing and ask you questions based on that. Others were all just questions based on your resume.

You will have a introduction session followed by a test. Before the test, they will give a brief background knowledge for the test. Try google "histogram" before you go to the onsite interview. The test is not easy. After the test, you will have a 1-minute presentation and followed by 8 1:1 interview. The wholes 1:1 interview was pretty like interrogation and asking the same behavior question and yes very exhausting.

Interviewed Nov 2010 (took a day)
It started with an on-campus interview, mostly behavior questions - what will you do in conflict, wut is your 5-yrs goal, and one tech. related question: describe a project that you are currently working on. Then they arranged me for an on-site interview, and payed for everything. It was a half-day interview, started with a company introduction and tours, then I was interviewed by 4 persons, 2 Engineers, 1 Senior Engineer, and 1 Manager. A lot of behavior questions, and HR questions, one person has estimation questions, how many barbors in US, and one technical questions, related with image analysis and data processing
