Interviewed Dec 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 2 months)
One on-campus interview by a Director - mostly behavioral to assess organization fit
One onsite technical interviews by a Manager
One onsite case interview with a Senior Manager
The onsite interviews were supposed to be the final rounds. Then I waited for almost a month. When I called them up to check the status, they said that I have another technical interview (telephonic) with a Principal.
After that interview, they took about two weeks to get offer approval and finally made an offer. I was told that the offer was the starting salary at Senior Associate level and since I had a lot of relevant experience, I can negotiate. When I negotiated, they said they can't increase the salary.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Chicago, IL (took 5+ weeks)
I had the initial interview with KPMG during the campus recruiting, after around one month, got email from my recruiter saying that the chicago office just accepted my referral and will invited me to the second round interview.
The interview is relatively easy, no tough questions at all, all the questions the interviewer asked are basic question about your background, your experience, why audit, why chicago.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Chicago, IL (took a day)
Pretty standard interview, but there were some key questions that were asked that most likely disqualified me from the job offer. My interviewer was big on how many people I knew already within KPMG and also asked what recruiters I knew. Because I didn't know anyone, the interview changed drastically and I could tell they wanted nothing to do with me.
You may interview well, but make sure you know a few people within the place you're interviewing for.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 3 weeks)
The hiring process was intense. It started with an initial phone screen by a recruiter that was outsourced and eventually hired by KPMG. I then had a technical phone interview from a senior manager and another interview with another manager that was asked to be part of the interview process. I finally met with one of the firm's senior managers and a partner to discuss what I was looking for in a job and was oversold on what KPMG did in the realm of SAP.

Have a on-campus interview of the tax intern at KPMG, the interview went on just like a conversation, the employers were friendly. they asked me about my school life, teamwork, communication skills, time management and so on.
It is a helpful experience for me although I didnt get the chance to go with the 2nd round interview. I love this company.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 2 days)
The first interview was at my university with a campus recruiter. It was a 30min conversation. Behavioral type of questions: Tell me about the situation when you did more than your team expected from you; tell me about how you had to say something unpleasant to your coworker or criticize him/her; how do you stay organized; Why did you decide on accounting program in this University; in a team do you prefer to be a leader or not; would you prefer to be a member of a winning team or a leader of losing team….
Then there was an office visit/interview with a couple of presentations. The office visit included two 45min. interviews. Both interviews, with a partner and a manager, test your professional interest in accounting industry. interviewers asked about the previous internship experience, about my duties/responsibilities, how I helped to improve something, what I've learned, what kind of software I used.... It really helps to have some good questions to ask your interviewrs. I asked about some of the current industry trends and new developments ( I read about them beforehand)

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Chicago, IL (took a day)
Met with a manager and a managing director. Managing director appeared to be hyped up on something and edgy. Very hard to follow. Would not have worked for him if offered the position. HR appeared to be scrabbling and added a third interviewer in last minute which appeared to throw off the schedule. Not very well organized and did not leave a position impression of the company. Also, they continued to try and sell me on how KPMG has audit and tax relationships with companies so it is easy for them to move into the advisory consulting space with the same clients. This did not seem to be the case in practice for them and was not a logical sell.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 4 weeks)
Was offered a first on-campus interview through campus recruiting with a KPMG campus recruiting manager. This first interview was only 30 minutes and strictly behavioral ("Tell me about a time when..."). Was asked a few questions in regards to my resume, wrapped up the interview and was told I would hear back within a week. The same night I received the email inviting me to their second round interviews, or "Inside Look Program." The Inside Look Program was a 2 day event, with the first night being a dinner and networking event at different restaurants in the city, and the second day being a full day at the Chicago office. Presentations, ice breaker activities, lunch, and two 45-minute one-on-one interviews comprised the second day. The interviews were with a Partner and a Senior Manager. My interview with the Senior Manager consisted of going over my resume for 10 minutes, and then her opening it up to my questions for the next 35 minutes. Interview with the Partner was straightforward.
