Interviewed Sep 2009 in Washington, DC (took a day)
My initial communication with company was via telephone call after they obtained my resume through careerbuilder or monster website. It took them approximately two weeks before an interview was scheduled after initial contact. They scheduled me to meet with two people per hour for three sessions on the same day.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Jakarta (Indonesia) (took 3 weeks)
The hiring process took 3 weeks with a one on one format that helps the interviewee (KPMG Jakarta office) and the interviewer feels relaxed and able to have a a good understanding of each other needs and objectives.
In particular to the process, I remember that the process was not that long and they use 2 steps interview with 1 written test (Accounting, Basic skills, etc).

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took a day)
The following questions were asked:
1. What do you know about SCI?
2. Which projects have you done which can be helpful to us?
3. Why KPMG?
It was mostly a personal interview with other questions being on strengths and weaknesses. The interview was conducted by the company HR. Overall I think they looked for enthusiasm and interest in the position being offered. The work culture as far as I have heard is good, workload is more but its interesting.

Interviewed Jul 2008 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 days)
The recruiter pitch the new role and see if it's of interest. The first interview was via a phone for a quick assessment of skill and interest of moving to their company. The 2nd interview is more technical / skill testing followed by a HR general questionning. Overall the whole session takes around 4 hours in total.

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took 4 months)
1st round - recruiter
2nd round - case study and skills (2 people for each round; lasted 2 hours)
3rd - partner round
Tested skills of how one deals with ambiguity, how quick one is with numbers (case study), motivation to join the firm and the particular practice. Sometimes quite blunt and aggressive mode of questioning.
Too long a process - several months perhaps due to market conditions last year.
Very different from usual interview style in other consulting firms.
What is said here shoulnt be considered to apply to all advisory practices within the firm. This was a little unique to say the least!
Interview Questions
( alittle too blunt)
Negotiation Details
Unable to negotiate due to market conditions
Be very sure that the salary is per your experience level

Interviewed Sep 2009 (took 2 months)
the interview process was ad-hoc and drawn out. Granted it was during the recession period but the interviews I had with Booz and Co were very rigorous and structured. Since our group is very new we are working on creating a similar interview experience.
