Interviewed Jan 2010 (took 4 months)
3 interviews:
1 - case study with 2 ADs - ordinary case study, was not difficult. they also ask some brain teasers but quite average.
2 - case study with 2 managers - very similar case to the 1. one. but one of the interviewers plays the bad cop
3 - interview with a partner and an AD.
typical partner interview

Interviewed May 2008 in Houston, TX (took a day)
One day interview. Talked with almost everyone in the group. Mostly "fit" questions to see if I like the people and if the people like me. Interview with partner took only about 20 minutes. He just asked about background, goals, and salary expectations. Had lunch with associates and senior associates in nice restaurant.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Washington, DC (took 3 weeks)
Stay positive and know your stuff. You should also show that your a team player, since KPMG is centered around working in such an environment. HR was extremely helpful and the interviewers were prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. The process was nerve-racking for me since I really wanted this position but it was also smooth in the since that once a decision was made I was informed immediately.

Interviewed Aug 2008 in New York, NY (took 1 week)
I was contacted by in-house recruiter who was super friendly. After the brief conversation I was notified that I was going to meet with a partner. The interview process was very smooth and rather informal & casual. The partner then introduced me to the senior manager and he was very friendly as well. I was told by the partner that I was going to hear back from him soon but the very next day I got contacted by the HR person and I got an offer.

Interviewed Jun 2008 in Houston, TX (took 2 days)
Interviewed with a panel for first interview. Questions about background, skills, work experience, and interest in position. Lasted about 2 hours. Based on results invited for local on site interview. Next interview was 1:1 interviews with partner and managers and group discussion/lunch with staff. Similar question as first interview. Mostly trying to see if I am really interested and if I would be a good fit for the group. Everyone was nice, showed me around, and tried to "sell" the position.
