Interviewed Dec 2010 (took 2 months)
First interview was with the job recruiter. Discussion of the CV and interest in the position. The first meeting with the employer was with a Human Resource Officer. Although not knowledgable of the position and challenges, the officer will make sure that you can fit into the organization and be able to respond to the job and direct supervisor demands. Third interview was with the direct supervisor for the position. This interview was to know each other in detail, what I was expecting from them and what they were expecting from me. We also discussed the CV. It was more an open interview with no written questions. A fourth interview was done including the Human Resource director and it was kind of a panel interview including a presentation of a given business case for the position. The final interview was with the General Manager, short, precise and direct.

Negotiation Details
I didn't negotiate. Bad move....you should always negotiate something. A signing bonus, stock...a few extra days to sign...nothing wrong with proper and conscious personal demand. After all, it is all about both sides future.

Very clear phone interview, professional, timeframes outlined, questions answered. During 1:1 interview process very informal, unclear if I would be objectively compared to other candidates due to lack of formality.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Battle Creek, MI (took a day)
I applied for this position online via the "careers" section of Kellogg's corporate website. About a week later, I received a call from a HR representative to schedule a phone interview with the hiring manager, which I had about two days later. The phone interview went ok-I was asked to run through my resume and was asked about my experience/familiarity with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, which I was told was the most commonly used software program in the company. So if you're not someone who knows Excel on at least an intermediate level or above, that may be something to really work on if you want to become an intern at Kellogg's. About several days after my phone interview, I received an email stating that I was no longer being considered for the position.

Interviewed Jul 2011 (took 4 weeks)
I applied online, and about a week later I heard from the company. The HR associate informed me that the company was interested, and wanted me to come in for a interview. She also informed me that I had to create a presentation on the following:
Educational Background
Professional Experience
Certifications
Additional Qualifications
Why did I choose the Kellogg Company
Why the Department/Team
Why this Role
They told me to make a presentation that was 15-20 minutes.
I ended up presenting in front of the Category Management team (6 members at once). After the presentation, they sat me down and asked me behavioral questions. “Name a time you handled 3 projects or more at once, and how did you handle it?” *Please answer all of their questions using the S.T.A.R Method (Situation, Task, Action, Result)* Do not be generic with your answer. They are looking for people who are good spirited, and are motivated for results.
The team was great, the environment and the people were very friendly. They gave me the encouragement to be myself and tell my story.
After the interview they gave me their cards and asked to keep in touch. They were very bad in regards to keeping me up-to-date on the status of my application. But a week and a half later, the Category Manager called me and made an offer of employment.
Key Pointers:
Please Be Yourself* (Kellogg is serious on attitude)
Knowledgable of the History of the Company
Knowledgable of the Role
Be Creative with your presentation (This will make you or break you, so think out the box)

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Englewood, CO (took 2 days)
The Kellogg's office in Ohio started contacting me about potential interviews in May 2011. I had a half hour phone interview with HR, filled out an online application from their website, and then had another half hour phone interview with the hiring manager. At this point the HR woman from Ohio called and said they would like to schedule an in-person interview in 2 weeks time. I was then sent a generic confirmation email with attachments for travel reimbursement (?), reasons to work at Kelloggs, and most specifically, how the interview would be structured. I was instructed to put together a powerpoint presentation on myself, which would last 15 minutes. There was no mention of whether there would be overhead equiptment available for this, but that copies should be brought for everyone in the panel. So that is what I did-- I spent 2 hours following the guidelines and listing who I was, why I was great for this job, my experience, etc. When I arrived at the interview, the two people on the "panel" could not have looked less interested in what I had to say. One of them was actually the hiring manager whom I had already discussed all of this with on the phone. After the awkward 15 minute presentation, these two were also the same people who proceeded to grill me with out-of-the-box HR questions that they were reading off a packet of paper. "Name a time in your life when youlet someone down and how you handled it..." And so forth. It was an awful interview, poorly set up probably because the HR department is in Ohio and the people in the actual place you are interviewing seem to have no idea how to react to the "15 minute presentation of yourself". It was awkward and I was not surprised to receive a generic rejection letter a week later. If you are applying for this position I suggest you ask for clarification on what they are expecting from your presentation. It was a Finance position, I know powerpoint well, and have specific experience that matched the job description. ... maybe they wanted some out of the box original spiel? If so, they would have still followed it up with the unoriginal HR questions that tell no one anything about your qualifiacations.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took a day)
They use a behavioral interview process; which is based on the premise that past behavior is the best predictor of future performance. A presentation of your experience and why you want to work there are required for most all salaried positions and a panel interview with up to 6 people.
