    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at King's Hawaiian (Torrance, CA).

    Interview

Overall, great experience from initial HR phone call to final offer. It's a growing company and all of the people I met with were hospitable, passionate, and smart. The process in a nutshell- 1:1 phone interview with HR a week after application submission, phone interview with managers, face to face interviews with managers, and then phone call with offer. I had two face to face interviews plus an assignment prior to offer. The process took over three months but the key is to keep open communication with HR as you are asked to go further into the process with them. All interviewees get free bread... yum!

    Interview Questions

    • Questions range- Tell me about yourself? Why do you want to work for KH? Many questions were related to the specific role I was applying for.   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at King's Hawaiian (Torrance, CA) in May 2015.

    Interview

First had a phone interview with the Recruiter and then had onsite interview with 3 others who I would be working under, including the director. All were very friendly and made the interview process easier. They explained what projects I would possibly work on and how I would be getting feedback.

    Interview Questions

    Senior IT Support Specialist Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6+ weeksinterviewed at King's Hawaiian (Torrance, CA) in May 2015.

    Interview

I have had various phone interviews with HR (C.N) SR IT Director , Network Engineering, and the other Support Specialist. This has been a nightmare of a process as I had go through 3 phone interviews over a span of a month. They are VERY slow with movement and even missed phone interview appointments 2x and had to reschedule days later! And this was ALL a MASSIVE waste of time as the HR rep LIED about the salary for this position it was 65k NOT 75k (was brought on my onsite interview! led to be very uncomfortable situations) as I'm making 75k currently and would have NEVER even done more than the initial call if she wasn't so cryptic with the elusive answers on the phone. I feel that in order to improve this process is to put the spotlight on those who need to know how to perform their jobs professionally! So, after over a week of waiting for the result of the in-person interview...they decided to go with "another candidate" after countless e-mails of asking for status was again rude and unprofessional! They did me a favor by not making an offer mostly due to the gap in salary expectations. AVOID this company at all costs they epically wasted my time all over something that should've been solved in the first phone screening!!

    Accounts Payable Department Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency – interviewed at King's Hawaiian (Torrance, CA) in March 2015.

    Interview

Phone interview first and if they are interested in your skills and you appreciate their core values then you are asked to have an in person interview. It was the kindest, comfortable, interview I have ever had. King's Hawaii puts alot of care into the interview and sticks to their core values which is what would make them a great place to work for.

    Director Level Position Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 8 weeksinterviewed at King's Hawaiian (Torrance, CA) in January 2015.

    Interview

Very well organized interview process which moved relatively fast once it got into the flow. I really appreciated the fact that the hiring manager took his time and provided some feedback as to yes/no/why and therefore no “black hole” period. It was a phone screen followed by 1:1 with the hiring manager and then come back and meet 1:1 with 4-5 members of the leadership team. Interview questions were pretty general in nature and nothing stood out that’s worthy of special mention. Not a lot of situational questions, and it all proceeded in a very timely and organized way. I would really like to mention that in addition to a regular job description, hiring manager had taken the time to create and share a vision and timeline for the goals that were stated for this particular position. Now, the sad part – they thought that I was slightly over qualified as compared to another finalist. I had always considered forward hiring was the way to go especially for companies that are looking to grow aggressively. Regardless, it was a great experience interviewing with a highly professional group of people, and they didn’t make me as a candidate feel less respected. This could have been the perfect opportunity!
