I was interviewed by the HR manager. I was offered the job and at first accepted. The hours offered were only twenty-five a week with minimum wage. I am in a position whereby I need full-time employment so I call HR back and declined the offer.

I applied online and was instructed to select a day for an interview. I scheduled it for a Thursday. Went in on Thursday and was told the Human Resource lady did not work on Thursday. I called her the next day and she told me to come in Saturday. The interview was really basic. She asked me for my availability and I told her open. During the interview, it was two girls in the next room getting trained so I felt they were hiring. After the interview, she scheduled me an interview with the store manager and told me to come with my SS card and an ID. When I came for the second interview the store manager had to leave, so the human resource manager just told me she will offer me the position. She sent me for a drug test and told me she will call when my background test results were back

I applied online to the two local kmarts nearest to me. I kept calling the one about a mile from my house with the same result. "The hiring manager is on vacation" or "The hiring manager is not in at the moment" and haven't received any calls back. About a week after giving up on calling the one a mile from my house, the other Kmart I applied to, 30 minutes from home, called for an interview. The interview was very easy. Just little situational questions and my availability. The interviewer was REALLY nice and after she interviewed me, she walked to the back to ask the manager if they wanted to do a second interview now but they said "We'll just call her". She put a sticky note on my application and I watched her write "Call" on my application which gave me the impression that they were going to call. She then said "You'll hear from me either Monday or Tuesday." Here it is, a week after she said she'd call me...still no calls. I'm hoping it's only because it was Easter weekend that they didn't call me.

I came in 20 minutes early. The girl that was supposed to get interviewed before me didn't show, so that was a green light for me and it made me look really good. The interview did not last long at all. I was only asked a couple simple questions. She told me about the position, dresscode, and some of the policies. Soon after the store manager came in he did not really ask me questions. I was offered the job on the spot. I go back for orientation next week. Just to add I do not have any previous work experience.

I filled out an application online, and was told that I would be interviewed face to face at a local store. Apparently, there was no actual job available at that time, despite the job post. I was told that there may be some job openings coming up in the near future and that I would probably be hired as a cashier. The interviewer told me to call back in about a week if I had not been contacted before that time. Since I had not been contacted, I did so...three times over the span of about three weeks. The manager was "on a vacation", "out for the day", or was just not available. Never heard back from them again despite leaving messages.

It was a very relaxed interview, she just asked basic questions about my availability and if im comfortable handling money. i think i over prepared for it lol. they didn't ask about experience or resume or anything. just my id and social security number. EASY. ADVICE: just go in and be yourself , answer the questions like you think they want you too , and have open availability and you will be just fine. ALSO try to keep the small talk going, because in retail, you have a lot of small talk with customers

I was interviewed by the hiring manager, who just asked about my availability and what hours I'd be willing to work. She scheduled a second interview the following week and I was interviewed by the head manager. After I was told I got a job offer, but would have to take a drug test, sign papers and I'd get a call to continue to the next step. Which is orientation. I got a call back after three weeks and was ask to come in the next day. Its overall an easy interview, just be yourself and answer their questions as best as you can. Good Luck!
