Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Manteno, IL Aug 2011 – Reviewed May 22, 2013 New
Interview Details – I was promoted from within. I'd been working as a General Warehouse Associate in the Shipping department for about nine months. during this time, I was involved in various committees offered to associates such as the Safety Committee and the "Continuouous Improvement" Team. These helped me gain exposure to upper management and showed that I take initiative. I placed my resume directly in the hand of the Warehouse Manager one day, and had a talk with him that following day. After that, it was pretty standard stuff: Formal interview, Panel interview with the Senior Management team, and then the waiting game. I went back to work for about a month before I heard anything. One of the Operations Managers told me it would be official the following week in passing conversation. Awkward.

Interview Details – I applied online and after application it asked me to set up a interview. I went in for my interview a week later. When I went in at 11am and they told me to come in at 1pm! I was upset. I came back at 1pm and met with the store manager and hr manager...he didn't ask any questions. I was hired on the spot. I had to take a drug test and had to have a background check then two days later he called me for orientation.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Torrington, CT May 2013 – Reviewed May 12, 2013 New
Interview Details – The application program was simple, and is set up so that if you apply for one position it will auto-fill for any subsequent positions you apply to. I received a call back the next day from the hiring manager to set up an interview. When I went in, the manager I spoke to was friendly and welcoming, quickly setting me at ease with her demeanor and bearing. Most companies want to know what their prospective employees long-term goals are, but this was the first interview where my answer was actually received and taken into consideration. after discussing my long-term goals, the manager recommended a different job within the company that would put me in a better place to fulfill my goals, and I was sent home from the interview with instructions to apply for that position, and was told that once i'd done so she would call with the job offer. When I called the next day we started the paperwork to finalize my hiring and within 1 week of my initial application i started work.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Temecula, CA Oct 2012 – Reviewed Apr 27, 2013
Interview Details – Two interviews one with HR the next with the manager of the department I chose. Kmart just wanted a specific amount of employees for the holiday season so they basically hired anyone. Both interviews were friendly and fast. You pick which department you wanted to work in softlines or hardlines then which position in the department. Basic interview questions super easy job is pretty much garunteed. During the holiday season they honestly just need a quota of people to fill in the jobs they needed.

No Offer – Interviewed in Las Vegas, NV Apr 2013 – Reviewed Apr 26, 2013
Interview Details – The 1st interview I went to at Kmart was a group interview. There were about 15 hopefuls who attended. The interview lasted about 20 minutes. They passed around a piece of paper and had us sign our name and then they went around the room and had everyone introduce themselves. They explained a few things about the company and then they told us the HR manager would be calling us within the next few days. That was the extent of the 1st interview... 1 down...2 to go!
