Interviewed Nov 2010 in Wheeling, WV (took 1+ week)
Ridiculous group interview where they ask several retail based questions and you have the others interviewing with you using your answer.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took a day)
I applied online and was called within 2 weeks to interview. When I first arrived I was greeted by the cashier and I told her I was here to see ***. She directed me to customer service. There I asked and was told to go into this room. When I went in there was a group of people waiting to be interviewed. We were asked to go into another room where the store assistant manager told us about the position she called "truck." It involved unloading the freight and stocking the sales floor. The hours were perfect 6 am -11 am M, W and Th. We were each asked to tell about ourselves, work experience etc. Then we were asked questions related to prior experience. Then she went out and called each of us out individually. That is when she told me she would keep my application and call me when they were hiring for seasonal employees. Pretty sure I did not get the job but unsure of the reason. I have plenty of experience and am willing to work hard. Maybe I am too old?
Seemed like she had made up her mind when we were all seated in the interview room based on how we looked or age.

Interviewed Nov 2010 (took 3 days)
I applied online and was called in for a group interview within a few days. The interview was with the store manager and one of the other executive managers. It is a very structured interview with preset list of questions they ask. You basically sit in two rows and take turns answering the questions. They are for the most part common sense questions and if you have every worked in retail then you should have easy answers to most of them. I will post as many as I can but if you review the ones posted on this site for the position you are applying for then you will have every interview question they ask. Once the interview is over they step out of the room and decide who they want to keep. If you are asked to stay for whatever reason then you will be offered a job. If not well then they decided not to keep you.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in South Lebanon, OH (took a day)
Today I went to my first ever job interview at Kohl's and it wasnt all that bad. When I first went in I went to customer service and told them Im here for a job interview, they then handed me a employment application and I had to fill that out while a couple others came and also filled out an application. Since there were a 2 other filling them out with me I then knew it was going to be a group interview, I hoped for an individual interview though.
Well after we were done we waited a few minutes and then went into a room with a table where we were seated at and this is where the group interview began. The interviewer then asked us questions one by one randomly, so he would start with someone first and then the other person would be first for the next question and so on. The very first question we were asked was our name and also a little bit about ourselves and why we wanted to work at Kohl's.
After about 6 to 8 questions were asked we then filled out 3 forms which consisted of what are some references, your authorization for a drug test, and also for criminal background check. So after everything was filled out we were free to leave. Overall it wasn't that bad but I would have much preferred a 1:1 interview since you are able to tell more about yourself personally.
