Interviewed Dec 2010 in New York, NY (took 6 weeks)
Began with a phone interview from a recruiter, then an interview with the hiring manager. Eventually, I was invited in for a day of interviews with four Sr. Client Partners from various practices and a Sr. Associate. Two weeks went by and I was invited in for an identical day and eventually I was called one morning to come in that afternoon (good thing I was available). Everyone was pleasant and interviews were more about fit and why you want to be a recruiter. Basically, they just want to see if you've got the people skills and are not intimidated by executive presence.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
I had a phone screen and then an on-site interview where I met with two Director's. Overall the process was smooth, however they never got back to me and when I reached out to them, they told me in a very short response that they moved forward with other candidates.

Interviewed May 2011 (took 4 weeks)
I went through several rounds of interviews with several different types of interviewing methodologies.
I had 4 face to face interviews and 2 phone interviews. Each person was looking for role and culture fit. Some focused on skills that were necessary (PPT capabilities) others focused on my ability to fit in with the fast paced consutling lifestyle. Finally, others were just looking to see if I would be able to handle myself successfully in front of clients. For potential interviewees, I would suggest that you know yourself well and be able to speak to your accomplishments (basic, I know, but the questions mostly focused on historical context lifted from my resume). I worked through a recruiter so most of my process was facilitated and managed through her efforts. Overally the process was smooth and efficient, but extensive. The interview process is not for the faint of heart which is intentional, the work we do requires diligence and perseverance.
Negotiation Details
The offer came in above my expectations and was actually so strong that I decided I would only have been negotiating out of principal not out of desire. If I could do it over, I would probably try and recieve some pre-banked vacation time that I lost when I resigned from my other company, but that is a minor thing compared to the amazing benefits and salary this compay has. Seriously, the benefits are some of the best I will ever have in my career.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Personality Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed May 2009 in Frankfurt, Bavaria (Germany) (took 4 weeks)
Initial contacts via phone were good, good detailed questions on Background, present and past motivations Details about the opportunity were sketchy at best.
Follow on calls were not so well organized with one multiway conference call starting late due to failure to notify all parties on the call.
1/1 interview was top notch.. good professional senior interviewer, to the point questions and precision required on the answers. Well done summary of the interview with follow up scheduled.
Follow up calls and mails were not on par with the face to face meeting and in general, there was an evident large turnover situation as several changes in contact were made due to employees leaving the company

Be tough on salary issues, insist on your market value, they will try to beat down your starting salary. It will be harder to catch up later.

Interviewed Jun 2008 in Bangkok (Thailand) (took 2 weeks)
I approached the company's MD by first sending him an email that I was interested in an opportunity. At first there was no headcount but because I have a prior background in executive search from NY, that caught his attention. We scheduled a meeting where I went to the office and met with every team members (it was a small office of 9 persons). The interview was more about getting to know me, why I became a recruiter, and what do I want to do. Just be sure to be able to answer why executive search and K/F. The last round of interview involved going out for a drink together with the team members. My colleagues later revealed that they wanted to use the effect of alcohol as I may reveal any hidden agenda or motive for my interest in K/F.
