My original employer sold its stores to Kroger. So, everyone who worked there before got a chance to interview with Kroger. It was 1:1 interview, not very formal.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Cincinnati, OH (took a day)
A representative from company called me and asked me to come for an interview. So, I drove a few hours to attend the interview and asked at the desk for the woman who scheduled my interview. She had them send me upstairs. There was no one waiting for me when I got off the elevator but I couldn't go anywhere because both doors required a key card. So I stood there a few minutes and someone who was NOT the woman I was expecting came to greet me. She was one of the people interviewing me (I had no idea there would be two). So she brought be into a room and introduced herself by first name and the other woman came and again only gave me her first name. My interview lasted 20 minutes at the most. The shocking part was when they got up to leave before realizing they hadn't asked me if I had any questions. I was in a bit of shock at how ready they were to leave, so I only asked 3 of the approximately 10 I had prepared. I was upset when I left because I drove over 4 hours round trip for an extremely rushed interview. Then they told me a decision would be made in less than two weeks. I waited about 3.5 before I followed up. I called the woman who initially contacted me, but she passed be off to one of the women who interviewed me. When I finally spoke to her, she told me that a final decision had been made but to keep checking their website because they had many positions to fill. Well unbeknownst to her I had come across the fact that they had already reposted the position for which I had interviewed, the morning that I chose to follow up. Such a serious lack of professionalism makes me sick. I reapplied for the position after I hung up with her in hopes that she would see my name pop up and feel egg on her face for being so rude.
Honestly, if you are going to make someone drive hours for an interview for which they spent days preparing, at least act interested and spend more than 20 minutes speaking with them. Then have the decency to contact them BEFORE reposting the position.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took a day)
It was odd... Although I had other experience it was not allowed to be used because they did not want to pay for experience. Their computers were slow so I had to sit and wait for about 30 minutes.

it is a very flexible company because of partime work only as far as time off.. but they would not allow me to include any other experience I had in order to get a better job grade because they didn't want to pay me.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Wichita, KS (took 2 days)
The first thing you need to do is feel out an application located by the registers. You will then get a skills test with aninterview directly afterwards. If that is passed a ua must be taken. Very simple process.

It was a very nice interview with the company, I wound up working for them for about 2 1/2 years. Based solely on my experience I was paid a little higher than normal.

Interviewed Mar 2009 in Riverside, CA (took a day)
Applied online. Received a phone call approximately 2 weeks later from HR and scheduled a 1:1 interview. The format of the interview was initially skills-focused and went into behavioral. Depending on how you respond to the questions determines how much additional information gained about the company. Overall, the interview was laid-back and friendly.
I would suggest asking all questions up front before the interview.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Collierville, TN (took 5 weeks)
Got the call for an interview on tuesday and had it the following friday, this was a 1:1 and i met with the Division Manager, dude was really cool and made the interview feel easy, then the following week i had to do a panel interview which was considerably more difficult in the sense of how they had it set up but the questions were your standard tell us about your previous jobs and such and your skills and some technical questions, plus some off the wall questions such as "If you were shrunk down to the size of a pencil and you were stuck in a blender that was fixing to be turned on how would you go about getting out?" The third interview that followed the next week was a video conference interview that involved the managers in corp. That was a bugger, tech questions out the ying-yang and situation questions but i have to admit that it was fun and the whole experience has been nothing but fun, after answering all of the questions for one manager the other that was also present had me to another skills test and started to ask me all kind of questions regarding previous jobs. By the end of it all they both said that i had done really well and it would be a great privilage to work with me, (as good as that sounds im wondering if they told the other guy that as well) so now im in the fifth week and waiting to see if they have choosen between another applicant or myself but i have to say that being in the final two from 145 is something to be proud of in itself although theres no glory for second place, so i will be crossing my fingers and hope for the best and i will update this as soon as i know something.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Louisville, KY (took 5 days)
applied online, was called for an interview a few days later. the interview was very informal, no strange questions, pretty black and white. They called me later that same day to offer the position, which I accepted. Had to schedule a drug test and wait for results before I could begin work.
