Interviewed May 2011 in Rockwall, TX (took 5 weeks)
I applied on L3Com's website for the position. To my surprise, they called me in for a on-site interview.
The onsite interview was 4 hours long, and I got interviewed by five people.
The first interviewer asked me questions regarding my software engineering background, my reasoning skills with certain logic problems and so forth.
The second interviewer also asked me more technical questions.
The third and fourth interviewers asked me questions as to whether or not I was familiar with various software libraries they used, and the team I would be working on if hired.
The fifth interviewer gave me information on the project I would be working on if hired.
After the on site interview, I received a phone screen the following week with the hiring manager. The interview with him was a combination of all the interview questions and background information from all the individuals from the onsite interview.

Negotiation Details
L3 took their sweet precious time in getting back to me regarding an offer or rejection. I normally give companies a week (for small companies) - two weeks(large companies) to make their final decision in the hiring process. It took L3 five weeks. I originally lost hope in them presenting me an offer after the third week.
When I got the offer, I did not try to negotiate as this was the salary range I was looking for.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Skills Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed May 2009 (took a day)
I interviewed with the company at school first then they flew me in for an onsite interview. The whole process took a few hours. First met with HR, and then was shuttled through several managers and leads who asked mostly common interview questions and talked about their working environment. There were some questions about generic programming concepts: virtual methods, etc.

Interviewed Mar 2009 in Greenville, TX (took a day)
It was a set of three interviews in a big room at small tables. They ask a lot of information on what type of programs I had worked on at school. Also was question on basic java stuff like print statements and lots basic. I would just review the basic (CSC 120) or focus the interview on a language you are very comfortable with. A friend was ask about pointer so would know the basic.

Reason for Declining
They really didn't do a great job of selling the company to me. They were the third defense contractor i interviewed with and didn't complete. However, I had two friend who did intern there and love it said is was a relax environment and didn't take much to impress.
Other Details
I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a Skills Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took a day)
I was interviewed by 5 people--the hiring manager, the architect, and three engineers. Only one of the engineers that I spoke to had technical questions for me. The rest were more get-to-know-questions. It seems like it's a crap shoot with defense companies and their interviewing practices. Some just want to know about your experience and some want you to answer technical questions.
