Interviewed Jan 2012 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 months)
I have just had my telephone interview with L'Oreal and thought I would put up some of the questions I was asked, as I found this thread extremely useful in my preparation...
I had a friendly interviewer from the HR department who even provided feedback at the end (Very nice)
It is extremely important to demonstrate that you have a passion for the beauty industry, L'Oreal itself, and for the specific department you are applying for. They do not ask any questions to trick you out but you must be fully prepared and have done all the background research possible on the brands, competitors, product launches and a SWOT analysis would be helpful...Good Luck

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Istanbul (Turkey) (took a day)
They firstly called me to ask brief questions about marketing and why you want to experience in that area. The second step was HR interview in which they progressed on your resume and they ask behavorial questions related to marketing insight and leadership skills. The last one was focused on marketing and specific company questions and simulations. Some interns can be gathered for mass interviews and they are made some case studies. No more than a week, they will return to you in either case.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 weeks)
The interview process took several weeks - after the submission of the CV I've got an email inviting me for a phone interview with HR, then after a week and interview with brand director. Both interviews lasted for about an hour.
Questions:
Tell me about your experience with L'Oreal
Tell me about your work experience.
What were intercultural challenges in groups consisted of international students?
Describe the brand you're applying for: characteristics, competitors. Why this brand? Why L'Oreal in general.
In general, the interview was not hard at all, all questions were ordinary interview questions, and managers were quite enthusiastic, attentive to the interviewee and friendly.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Prague (Czech Republic) (took a day)
I applied online. HR emailed me some information about the AC.
There were about 10 other people, also for different positions, mostly all marketing. She started with the company info, later asked us to introduce ourselves. Then a test of analytical skills followed (rather difficult questions, lots of numbers, tables and graphs, we could use a calculator).
We were divided into groups and solving a analytical "puzzle".
The last part of the AC consisted of describing a product (using also our imagination) to show our creativity.
HR very nice and kind. Good overall feeling.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Montreal, QC (Canada) (took 3 months)
Played the online game: Reveal by L'Oreal. Got a call from HR 3 weeks after completing the game. First phone interview was an hour long behavioral. Received second phone interview that was more marketing-based and asked questions regarding creativity and what my favorite brand is. Final in-person interview was more marketing technical. I had to review product packaging and give recommendations. Overall, L'Oreal does not give the easiest interviews, but if you are confident, it is a plus!

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Edison, NJ (took a day)
Phone interview was good. The interviewer was courteous and provided information about the company and the position. Interview was set up and first got called in by HR Director who did a general interview to see if I would fit in with the organization. Following that I met the hiring manager who then gave me the nitty gritty on the job I was interviewing for and what the expecations were. This was followed by some questions regarding my experience and my capabilities.
