Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)
L'Oréal came to the career fair at my university. They were looking for candidates for the Management Development Program (MDP). They were primarily looking for Industrial and Operation Engineers for this program. The interview was a typical behavioral interview. The interviewer really emphasized that l'Oréal has a very dynamic, fast moving workplace.
Some questions included:
Why cosmetics?
What's one cosmetic product that you cannot live without?
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Clark, NJ (took a day)
First of all, she tried to explain what I am going to work for if I am hired and then I asked several questions on that. Questions were mostly about your resume and little details of your research. Additionally, she also asked general questions like "what do you think your strengths are?". But didn't pay much attention on them.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in New York, NY (took 3 days)
Application online, followed by a phone screening, then an invite to a recruitment weekend. At the weekend, there were a number of networking events as well as a full day of case work in groups with other candidates. On the last day, you had your formal 2:1 interview with one HR rep and one manager.
Over the weekend, the interview is the EASY part - the hard part is the case work as you are constantly presenting on the spot, and need to be able to handle questions on the fly. Employees are also observing you the whole time to see how you work in teams - it can be a bit unnerving at first but once you get into it, it's a lot of fun.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Clark, NJ (took 4 months)
They came to a career fair at my school campus. I was signed up for an interview right after an information session. The next morning I interviewed. I did not hear anything back from them. At the end of January I received an offer letter for the summer internship with the terms of my contract already laid out.

Interviewed May 2011 (took 2 days)
I first had a phone screen with HR, which went well, and I was immediately called back for a 1:1 interview. The questions they asked were all about my background, the job description, and why I want to work for L'Oreal. Simple, typical HR questions.
My in person interviews consisted of a meeting with HR and a meeting with the department. These were mostly behavioral questions. What is your greatest achievement? What is an unpopular decision you had to make? Tell me about a time you worked with a difficult coworker.
I had thought the interviews went reasonably well. I sent in my thank you notes and patiently waited. I heard nothing back. I called, wrote e-mails, and got no response. That was back in April/May, so I'm that was their way of rejecting me "nicely."

Interviewed Jan 2011 (took a day)
Let's start off with I am very fortunate that I was incredibly stubborn. Not only did I apply online, but I found a key person's email address, phone number and office address and harassed the heck out of him. I was contacted a few months later about having a screening interview. For me, it was very informal, and the itself was a breeze.
I say be yourself. The night before I prepared a few answers to a couple of standard questions, but I got the feeling that the HR person was looking for a spark and not the average answer. it also helps if you get a bit personal by talking about your plans for the weekend before the conversation ends. Crack a joke or two, because that will lengthen the interview (it was supposed to be 15 mins but lasted for about 40) and relax you.
I had just the one phone interview and it took about a month for a final decision to be made.
