Interviewed Sep 2011 in San Diego, CA (took 1 week)
My interview was for the brick specialist position in a new retail store. Lego had a hiring fair outside its store location. First, they had us fill out the application and then they interviewed us on-site. The interview itself was very informal. There were two interviewers that were from other stores, and asked many situational and experience questions that focused on customer service and working with others. You will be called back for a 2nd interview if you made it past the first group one.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England (United Kingdom) (took 4+ weeks)
First phone interview with 2 HR people: walk through CV, why Lego, most important issues facing the business. Got through but was advised to be more succinct in the next interview. Then an interview in the office with the line manager and one HR. HR asked for examples related to the required competencies, line manager was interested in the practical aspects of how would I approach the job - that was very down-to-earth and detailed, how would you gather information, what changes would you like to make in the website and why, etc. Was dinged with feedback that I was overqualified. Very practical just-get-it-done culture.
