Interviewed Feb 2010 in Milpitas, CA (took 7+ weeks)
I was interviewing with 5 different people for a CSR position, all in all the experience was very pleasant and I liked everyone whom I spoke with. They did not ask me many typical interviewing questions, but rather wanted to get a sense of my skill set and personality. There was no pressure in the interview, and everyone I spoke with was very engaged and interesting to talk with.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Milpitas, CA (took a day)
I was initially questioned on my resume. I was asked to explain the I2c bus protocol since I had done a project using that. The following are the other questions that I was asked:
1. How do you synchronize between 2 clock domains?
I answered asynchronous FIFO, but the interviewer expected me "synchronizer" from me. He explained about synchronizer and asked me if I knew about the how synchronizer's circuit looks like.
2. 2 systems are operating at different frequency. if data comes faster in 1, how will you synchronize.
I replied "using delay elements" and he explained something about asynchronous feedback logic.
3. He asked me what will happen to the I2c bus if 2 peripherals sent data at the same time on the bus due to a design fault.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Milpitas, CA (took a day)
Phone interview was very straightforward. They asked questions only pertaining to my resume, couple of trick puzzle questions were also asked. I think during phone interviews they are mostly looking to access if you are as good a candidate when speaking as you sound on resume. My advice to others would be work hard on your resume and KNOW what you have written. 1:1 was easy. They has invited only few candidates and I knew at the end of that day that I had done really well.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Milpitas, CA (took a day)
LSI had a bunch of entry-level postings on their website, had applied externally. Got a call from their HR asking me about my availability, he had some basic set of questions that he asked. The first round went all and he told that since I was available locally, they would be calling me in directly for a face-to-face. However, surprisingly got an interview call from one of the hiring managers for a technical phone which lasted about 45 odd mins. He asked me questions from my resume as well as basic ASIC design questions. Was called for an on-site the following week. I was told that there would be other fresh candidates. On the day of the interview, we were 16 people. We started the day at 9 in the morning with an hour long information on what the company does and how they have been doing in this economy. I felt they were transparent on the company information and how they were better than their rivals. There were around 16 people to interview 16 of us. Had 3 rounds of face-to-face before lunch, 45 mins each. 1 hour break for lunch and then again 3 interviews 45 mins each. The interviews consisted of very basic set of technical questions. However, I felt the interviews were more concentrated on behavioral questions rather than technicality. They were to select and call few people more from the group of 16 for 2nd round of on-site. At the end of the day, I was definitely sure that my technical part was all good.

Interviewed Jun 2007 in Wichita, KS (took 2+ months)
Phone interviews, one at a time, separated by days or weeks. Eventually a face to face, then a plane trip for more face to face, then some further phone interviews. Never once did they tell me why I should want to work there and by the end I really didn't want to work there, but I did accept the offer.
Longer, most tedious, disrespectful, and ineffective interview I have ever had.

Interviewed Dec 2007 in Austin, TX (took 2 weeks)
Interview process was very tough. There were multiple rounds of technical questions. None of the questions required one to remember things, they were highly analytical and required me to think a lot and then provide solutions. They were not bookish questions. They explained about group, work etc in great details
