Interviewed Oct 2010 in Traverse City, MI (took 5 days)
I walked in, introduced myself to the store assistant manager at the time, and she asked me about my sales experience. She inquired about my availability. She observed me as I interacted with customers to show my skill. The interview was mostly interactive and observational so it was very on the spot, but it was still pretty relaxed. I was called within a few days, and I accepted the offer.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Greensboro, NC (took 2 days)
Submitted Resume online. Got a call the day after asking me to come in for an in-person interview. The manager is very nice and professional. Wasn't offered because of my lack of experience/I am a man. Could be upset that it was sexist. But I could honestly understand that she was under pressure and since the position would be working closely with customers I might not be the best fit.

After I handed my application to the store manager, she said that she would be hiring within the next couple of weeks. Two weeks later, I was called for an interview. Everything went smoothly and after the interview, she said that she would call my references and get back to me. The next day, I was offered the position.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in East Brunswick, NJ (took a day)
I was called and asked to come in for an interview. When I arrived at the store I was asked to come go to the back of the store for an interview. We stood and just went through a quick run through of the position. She asked about my familiarity with the product being sold. I received a call the next day with an offer.

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took 2 weeks)
I interviewed with DSL and RSL. It took a little while to get appointment with RSL. Overall it was a good experience. I knew what the company was about, I was a loyal guest at the time, still am. Was able to add feedback about my visits to the store. I enjoy working there for the most part.

If you know someone there it will be easier to get it. The manager knew me so that definetly gave me the "in". Know your stuff. Be ready to be flexible and selling credit is a must.

Interviewed Aug 2008 (took a day)
The interview was very laid back. I was asked a series of questions one would expect working retail. I was asked about any previous experience and why I was interested in the position I was applying for. If I could offer any advice for an interview canidiate, Lane Bryant is looking for someone who is very fashion forward, trendy, outgoing, but still can fit in the bounds of the position. Show up looking professional but also trendy.

With very little experience in management, I believe that I was able to negotiate the maximum amount available to me. I would advise checking around in the area in which you intend on working to see what the normal rate of pay is for someone in that position. Some stores are in areas where they see a lot of traffic come into the store. These higher volume stores should be offering higher rates of pay. This position also comes with a monthly bonus opportunity for achieving the monthly sales plan.
