Interviewed Feb 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 3 weeks)
I was contacted by Language Stars to schedule a phone interview, which I did. The interview consisted of normal questions but also consisted of a portion of role playing where I was a Language Stars employee and the interviewer was an interested customer. A little weird, but I made it to the next round which was an in person interview. Again, basic interview questions and another set of role playing. They asked me back for a third interview where they tested me on my ability to run their scheduling system and again, more role playing.
I was feeling confident about the job but then two weeks later, they sent an email saying they decided not to hire for the position and that this decision was unrelated to my skills and ability. I assume it was for money reasons but I found it really annoying they wasted a month of my life and theirs when they could have simply decided they weren't going to hire to begin with.
