Occupational Therapist Interview
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Life Care Centers (Alamosa, CO).
Interviewed over the phone as I was living in another city. I was familiar with this company as I worked prn for them before. The manager was up front about what the deal was and the hours she had to offer and followed through with things well.
- There were few questions. Answer Question
I did not negotiate as I really needed a job in this city for a short time. Unfortunately I think I could have made about $5 more an hour if I had negotiated.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Life Care Centers (Detroit, MI) in October 2012.
This was my first interview after graduating from OT school. I was contacted by an internal recruiter who set everything up. The interview itself was fairly easy. I met with the rehab manager and head occupational therapist at the same time and was also given a tour of the facility and introduced to staff members at that time. They said they still had a few interviews left and would be in touch soon. I was contacted the next day by the recruiter who wanted to set up my orientation. I told him I hadn't actually been offered the position yet and didn't really know the details as far as pay/compensation. He apologized for the mix-up and got back to me quickly with those details.
Reasons for Declining
This was my first interview out of school. I had several others lined up at the time and wanted to go on all of them before making any decisions. I ended up taking another offer in a different setting.

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Life Care Centers (Aurora, CO) in November 2008.
Upbeat. Brief tour of facility. Modern facility.
- How do you handle a difficult patient? 1 Answer
Not for me -- it didn't seem to be an option. I found out later that some employees got bonuses and temporary housing. I suppose we should always assume things are negotiable and ask for more.
