Loblaw Manager Business Intelligence Support Interview

Job was posted in Dec last year. Initial telephone HR interview was in Jan. Took 4 weeks for them to get back to set up 1st level interview with hiring Manager. Facility was great. Interview went very well. Quite detailed and they explored all your background and found it perfect.

After this, it took only 4 months before they called back for the 2nd interview - until then HR kept saying I am their top candidate. 2nd interview with upper management was a bit disorganized. They didn't know where to start - asked a few trivial day to day support questions - seemed a bit too junior though the position is management. They didn't sound like the background is very good fit for 'support'. If they had doubts they could have gone over the resume and asked me to speak more along the 'support' background - esp knowing they don't have that many candidates in line. It could be just that the candidate didn't know exactly what they were expecting the person to say...interview is intimidating to some people, though they might be fantastic performers actually. Why don't they do a contract to hire - if they are doubtful ?

They reposted the job after a day. Still looking after 7 months.
