Interviewed Feb 2010 (took 3 weeks)
Apllied online at lowes.com and was called the very next day. Wasnt surprised as the new store is opening this spring. The person called and introduced themselfs and asked "why do you want to work for lowes?" I answered that the customer service experience I recieved at another lowes was great and thought the company was all about that and wanted to be part of it. The asked me to come in the next week for an interview. I went in and sat with 2 different people, 1st was a manager in training and the other was an HR manager. The first asked me 3 questions about previous work experiences and how I handled them. After that was done the HR manager asked me basically the same questions after we were done they made an interview to meet with the actual store manager. He asked a few questions about my personal life to get me to relax a little I suppose. We had a chat and he explained how the store is run what he expects and what he wants from this store. After all of that we went to the back room and was given a drug test with a moth swab and was sent in to a lab. They told me to go online and do a second interview and would call me. I waited until the next week and called them. They set a meeting to discuss the results. I went in and they told me me they were very impressed with me and said they would like to extend an offer to me. They told me about the benifits and gave me an offer letter. I saw the pay and asked if I could think about it because it was barely minimum wage. I went home and thought about it and called them back and gave them a counter offer. They told me the pay was set in stone so I declined. I asked to be considered for another position and they set up another interview. Still waiting on the results from that.
