Interviewed Feb 2012 in Marietta, GA (took a day)
I applied online to a posted position from the Lowe's career website. I was called in for an interview within a week of applying. I had 2 interviews both in the same day; one right after another. First interview was with the HR Manager and then with the Assistant Store Manager. With the exception of 2 questions, the entire interview is situational type questions. The people I interviewed with were very nice and I got a good feeling about the Lowe's work environment. Other employees seem very happy and friendly.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Kennesaw, GA (took 6 days)
I was called about an online application I submitted and an interview was scheduled. During the first interview I met with two different people - the asst. store manager and then the store manager. I was asked the standard interview questions "tell me a little about yourself", and "why do you want to work at Lowes", followed by a series of "Tell me about a time when...." questions. These were scenario questions to basically show your problem solving skills as well as how you handle yourself in difficult situations. A couple of examples... "Tell me about a time when a customer was angry, how did you handle the situation", "Tell me about a time that you had to sell something, how did you go about that", Etc. The interview went fast, from start to finish I was there between 15 and 20 minutes. At the end of the interview I asked when I might hear back and I was told in about a week. It was actually only about three days later when I received a call for a 2nd interview. When I went back the 2nd time I was offered a job.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Alpharetta, GA (took 3 weeks)
The interview process was very standard and straight-forward. There was a three part process to the interview involving 3 different managers of the store. Once you went through them all they would give you a drug test and a background check. If those come back with no problem then you get a call with an offer.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took 3 weeks)
I did not think that the HR manager that interviewed me first was professional enough. She was not dressed appropriately and she seemed as she did not want to interview me. Nevertheless, I did advance to a second interview. Although the second interviewer was very nice he was NOT my hiring manager. It just seemed as if the whole thing is unprofessional. Also, all the communication that I had with Lowe's HR was via email...I never got a phone call from them. The second interviewer sounded like he really liked me. He even asked me about the department that I prefer to work in!!

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took a day)
I was referred to a Lowe's Company Director by one of their officers. The Director started with a phone interview lasting 10-15 minutes, trying to gain general knowledge of my experience. The questions were not difficult. Two weeks later I was invited to an interview wherer the Director and his boss met me for an 1.5 hours at their office. The interview was very scripted. They both had a multi page questionnaire and were taking notes the entire time. They informed me that it was standard procedure and that everyone interviewing for the position would receive the same questions. I was informed that they would be getting back to me in around two weeks. Have not heard from them yet. Overall they were pleasant and personable but stuck to the script.

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Atlanta, GA (took 3 months)
Have had several interviews with various HR people only to have them move to another store or position. With one HR manager, he was very interested in what I had to say but got no feedback what so ever. I continued to .followed up and then he was gone.
With another, I was one of a few being considered for a position...very professional and upbeat HR person. I had to keep walking in the store and following up. I had a one on one interview and the HR manager was extremely impressed. I was one a few selected for consideration, however, no decision was made and the HR person moved out of the position. Turns out I was told I was overqualified.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Buford, GA (took 2 weeks)
Interview process was fairly well thought out, corporate is doing their job. There is redundancy in the 'personality' test, as in answering many of the same questions online and in the interview. Overall, it impresses me that they (corporate) are in tune with the needs of an employee. My only complaint is that personally, someone from the interview team should have more feedback for me- my follow up phone call after having left on the note of "I am just trying to figure out where I can put you..." was answered with a vague "We haven't decided yet."
