Interviewed Dec 2011 in Belle Vernon, PA (took a day)
I was contacted by the HR Manager to see if I was still interested in the position I applied for and if so when could an interview be scheduled. The HR Manager gave me two dates to choose from when I could come in and we both agreed upon a time. She indicated that the interview would take about 45 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled time. I was interviewed by the HR Manager and the Store Manager in which they took turns asking me questions.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)
Can you interview at two tomorrow? This question represents the imformal manner in which interviews are handled with current employees. The answer, in my case, was yes of course.
The following day I sat with two ASMs who asked the typical LOWES questions. These questions carry too much weight, as the answers can be pure fiction and they would never know. The managers who do not have the final say transfer your score onward. This part of the process was simple and relaxed.

Interviewed May 2011 (took 1 week)
I was an internal hire so my interview was by phone since I did not live in the city I applied to. Applied on the Lowe's employee web site and received a call about a week later to set up a phone interview. Interview consisted of questions that I was very familiar with because I had interviewed for this position before. I knew the questions before I was asked so it made it very easy. The interviewers look for enthusiastic responses and responses that speak of teamwork.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took 3 weeks)
I did not think that the HR manager that interviewed me first was professional enough. She was not dressed appropriately and she seemed as she did not want to interview me. Nevertheless, I did advance to a second interview. Although the second interviewer was very nice he was NOT my hiring manager. It just seemed as if the whole thing is unprofessional. Also, all the communication that I had with Lowe's HR was via email...I never got a phone call from them. The second interviewer sounded like he really liked me. He even asked me about the department that I prefer to work in!!

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Houston, TX (took 3+ weeks)
very efficent each step took way too long in their new system but it was worth the weight, it must be very tedious to do all the online stufff. Met with ops mgr, store mgr, human resource mgr, store mgr again, waited 1 week for offer after background, then drug test then started next day after offer.

Interviewed Jul 2007 (took 3 days)
My interview process was very quick due to their immediate need for employees. Usually the process takes about 3 weeks. Process starts with a phone screening, then an initial interview with the human resource manager if they decide to proceed they will set you up generally with the salaried manager who oversees the position you are applying for, then if they decide to proceed they will set you up with the store manager for a final interview if they would like to hire you they will then proceed with a background check and drug test. After these result's come back they will make you an offer.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Dallas, TX (took 5 days)
Asked situational questions. You interview with the store manager and the involved department head or Ops. Mgr. They have a standard list of questons that they ask you. Much the same as the questions for EMTP. You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince at these interviews. They usually have the person that they want or dont want picked out before you get there. Lowes MAKES them interview 3 candidates.

Interviewed Aug 2008 in Flint, MI (took 3 days)
I applied for the position through the internal job posting system, I was selected along with 3 other people to interview. During the interview I had a 1 on 1 with the Store Manager, and Zone Manager over the specified area. The Questions asked were situational "Tell me about a time when you were faced with a difficult situation, how did you deal with it, and what was the outcome" All the questions were sales, and customer service based, with a few that consisted of leadership, and development techniques, and also conflict management. The interview was very professional, the expectations for the position were clearly defined, with an opportunity to discuss them on the spot. Advice I can give to someone interviewing, Be confident, know what you are talking about, and don't stop talking until they stop you.
