I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Lowe's in December 2013.
Interview Details – I only was invited to the initial interview, I believe I lacked the larger company experience they were looking for. The interview is very corporate and was about 15-20 questions. They have one sheet of paper for each question they ask where they write your response and then later rate your answer, I'm guessing it's how they rank their candidates.
Interview Question – 90% of their questions start with "Give me an example of time when you handled... " I did not always have a good or complete answer as I had not encountered some of the types of situations they were asking for in my previous experience with a much smaller company. Answer Question

I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Lowe's in September 2009.
Interview Details – Started with a phone interview resulting in a store site visit where I was asked to take a skills and leadership assessment. Did well on the assessments and moved on to the next and final stage which was an interview with the Regional HR Manager. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant and seemed to love the company which fueled my interest in the position. The final interview was behavior-based with the Regional HR Manager reading the questions from a sheet of paper. Good for consistency in evaluating candidates but can, (and should) be delivered in a more professional, personable manner.

Interview Details – Technically, I wasn't interviewed for the position. Local HRM requested that I take an assessment at employment site. The assessment was HR related vs. aptitude/personality. After assessment, I sat and talked with local HRM for at least two hours. We discussed a day in the life as a Lowe's HRM and the specifics of the location.
This was two weeks ago... Neither the local and regional HRM has returned my calls or emails.
