Interviewed Aug 2011 in New Hudson, MI (took 2 weeks)
Applied to Lowes online. Was very persistent about calling HR manager every week to engrain my name in her head for the job opening listed online. Interviewed with HR manager, Assistant store manager and then finally the Store Manager and was offered the job on the spot. Standard interview questions; why do you want to work at Lowe's?, Why do you want to work in this department?, tell me about a time when you had to work with a teamate?, How about a teammate you had difficulties getting along with?, etc.

Negotiation Details
When they offer you a hourly wage dont jump immediately to accept offer, ask for higher wage, as it is not easy to just simply "ask" for a raise with Lowe's as they give minimal raises (usually within about 35 cent - 50 cents) asfter your first 90 days and then every year after that.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)
Can you interview at two tomorrow? This question represents the imformal manner in which interviews are handled with current employees. The answer, in my case, was yes of course.
The following day I sat with two ASMs who asked the typical LOWES questions. These questions carry too much weight, as the answers can be pure fiction and they would never know. The managers who do not have the final say transfer your score onward. This part of the process was simple and relaxed.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took a day)
When I was first hired on at lowe's it was a seasonal position. I went to work everyday and got there early if I could and was never late. They saw how hard I worked so they gave me a part-time position on the stocking crew. 9 months later I applied for the millwork specialist job. It was in a different store. She called me for an interview about 3 days after I applied online. You have to be very positive in these interviews, they ask you alot of things how you handled problems in your past job. You have to try to give as much detail as you can, also they are looking at how well you work with others, (IF YOU ARE A PEOPLE PERSON).

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Knoxville, TN (took 2 days)
I received a call from the HR manager to have an interview with her and a separate time to interview with the store manager. Both interviews were "form" interviews - same questions to all applicants. All questions were "Describe a time when you..." type of questions. They had narrowed it down to 3 people before interviewing. My interviews were Tuesday and Wednesday and they said they would make a decision by Friday.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)
I was called for an interview after applying online. From start to finish, the interview process was very professional. I was interviewed by the HR manager, and next by the store manager. It was a detailed, common-sense interview, which provided plenty of opportunities for discussion and additional detail. A drug test followed (cheek swab, in-store), and then I was told to wait while the background check was completed (3-5 days). After that time, I got a call from the HR manager, and was offered the job. After many half-ass interviews with other companies, I was very impressed with the process at Lowes, and look forward to working with them. Yea!

Once I applied online. I got a phone call to come in for an interview. I sat 1:1 with an assistant store manager. I would suggest being charismatic and be truthful.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 2 days)
For this Head Cashier position they generally like to promote from within the company. They hire outside the company if you pass the interview process and have experience supervising Cashiers. Cash handling experience is a must. Customer Service skills are a must. And when you are asked what the most important skill to have in retail answer with "Time management". That answer will score you the part if you have the right skills.
