Interviewed Aug 2011 in Apopka, FL (took 2 weeks)
I applied online and recieved a phone call about a week later. I set up an interview and everything went well! Right off the bat they asked my availablilty and I told them I was in school and I told them when I had calsses and what days. Interview took about an 30-45 minutes and they asked me scenerio type questions and about my old job and stuff like that. I left and then got a call about 3-4 days later to come in for a drug test. Did that only took a mouth drug test and they said we will call you when the results come in. I think, not sure, but I think it took about a week or so for the drug test to come back and they called me and told me to come in for orientation but it was when i had class. I told them that and she was like well whats your availability? I told them and she said okay, we will call you. SO i called them back and asked if that pretty much didnt get me hired and she said yes. So they wasted my time and didnt really care.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Webster, TX (took a day)
first you talk to human resources manager and they go thru a list of questions. If you pass that section, you have an interview with the store manager who ask you even more questions. Then they say they will call you if they are interested. Within 2 days they called back with a job offer

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Mooresville, NC (took 3 days)
Applied online and received an email about interviewing over the phone with the recruiter. The first phone interview consisted of mostly behavioral questions, none of which were very difficult to answer. A few days later, I interviewed with the project manager of the group to which the position was assigned. Some technical questions were asked, but overall, it was relatively straightforward. Got the job offer a few days after that.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Marietta, GA (took a day)
I applied online to a posted position from the Lowe's career website. I was called in for an interview within a week of applying. I had 2 interviews both in the same day; one right after another. First interview was with the HR Manager and then with the Assistant Store Manager. With the exception of 2 questions, the entire interview is situational type questions. The people I interviewed with were very nice and I got a good feeling about the Lowe's work environment. Other employees seem very happy and friendly.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Anderson, SC (took 3 weeks)
Lowe's has a standard hiring procedure that they follow as other interviewees have stated. You apply on-line usually and they take a look at your application and the HR Manager calls you in for an interview. I applied for the Seasonal Cashier position and had two interviews on the same day with the HR Manager and then one of the Assistant Managers. I was called in a week later for the final interview with the Store Manager and he was very laid back and he asked me one question which was "Why should I hire you?" I was taken back by this a little because I rarely toot my own horn, but I did in this case and was hired on the spot!
My store is a brand new store entering their first spring and the people there are really great. I don't hperceive to have any kind of problems here and I really don't feel that I will be a seasonal employee for long. The culture differs from store-to-store I have been told and my co-workers are very friendly and like to have a good time while setting individual goals for themselves and they are all very supportive. I would say that it does take sometime getting use to the cement floors and that is something I my feet and body are still getting use to, but I feel like I could be at this store for a while before it is time for me to move from my hometown.
My final advice would be to study the questions that have been posted here and look at what Lowe's is doing in the community so you will know what the company is all about before your interview and this probably goes a long way with upper management.

Negotiation Details
I didn't negotiate because it is a seasonal position and it was a great offer for any cashier. I recently found out that I was offered more than what full-time cashiers make!

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took 2 days)
I applied online on Tuesday received a call on Thursday to come in for an interview Friday. I arrived at the interview 15 mins early. The HR manager came out and handed me a paper to write down my availability. Then about 15 mins later she came back out and invited me in for the interview. She went over the postion and asked if i was still interested I said yes then She asked about 5 questions all "tell me a time when" behavioral type questions. The interview lasted 10 maybe 15 mins long. I prepared myself so it was pretty easy for me to answer. She then said I needed to interview with the Cashier's Manager who was currently off so I had to come back the today (Saturday). The Cashier's Manager asked again 5 questions all behavioral and easy customer service based. Then handed off to the store manager who was really nice. She first asked me to "tell me about yourself" then she asked 3 follow up questions. Overall a VERY easy and actually fun interview process. All the people I spoke with were really nice, very professional. The store manager advised me that I should hear something by Thursday. I think I did very well. So now i'm just waiting to hear something back from them on if I got the job or not. *crosses fingers*

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Tallahassee, FL (took 1+ week)
we have 2 Lowe's in my city. I applied to both and numerous postions.... the first Lowes called me in for interview for Lawn & Garden. went in did interview with hr manager then store manager. never recieved called back from them. but the day after that interview, the second Lowe's called me to do interview for them the following week. Same process.. Interview with hr manager then the store manger. The questions were exactly the same at both locations so i knew the answers to the questions for the second location interview. the hr mangers asked about 5 question: difficult customer, time you made a mistake, time you worked on a team, time when magaer criticized u, and the last one i dnt remeber. the store manager asked about 10+ questions very basic, nothing hard, mostly bout how u handle thing in the workplace giving examples and outcomes. 2 days later received email stating to do BG check, thats when I knew I had the job at the second location. then 2 days later hr manager called and told me to come in to do drug test. 3 days later, was told to come in to orienation that following Monday. It was a fast process for me, I thought it was going to take forever as stated in others' interview process. Also this is aroud the time Lowe's is doing a mass hiring for the Spring.
