Interviewed Feb 2011 (took a day)
When I was first hired on at lowe's it was a seasonal position. I went to work everyday and got there early if I could and was never late. They saw how hard I worked so they gave me a part-time position on the stocking crew. 9 months later I applied for the millwork specialist job. It was in a different store. She called me for an interview about 3 days after I applied online. You have to be very positive in these interviews, they ask you alot of things how you handled problems in your past job. You have to try to give as much detail as you can, also they are looking at how well you work with others, (IF YOU ARE A PEOPLE PERSON).

Interviewed Dec 2009 (took a day)
I had to go through 4 rounds of interviews, 2 Zones, the Ops Manager and then the Store Manager. Afterward, I was presented with an offer from the HR Manager. A lot of the interviews asked a lot of the same questions, like "How would you deal with an angry customer?" or "How would you learn about new products that Lowe's sells?"

Negotiation Details
I was able to negotiate, only because I was not afraid if they turned me down, I would walk away and go back to my present job. They presented a pre-printed offer form with my name, position and salary written in. As I read the paper, I asked if the offer was negotiable, I was told no. I politely responded that it was not adequate compensation for the job that I was asked to do, and if a compromise was not available I would have to pursue other employment opportunities. I was then told to wait outside for a few minutes while they discussed a counter-offer, brought me back in and I accepted.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Personality Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Aug 2007 (took 2 days)
I walked in took interview in automated computer kiosk and had to be persistent and continue to visit once or twice a week before given an interview. Was able to get interview and it was a back to back two day interview one on one with current employees. Not real productive interviews basically just to see if you could tell a screw from a nail.

Negotiation Details
I was recomended by a current associate for the position and that particular associate made a higher then usual hourly rate, and I got what she got and I put her name on my paperwork as a reference. I assume that they knew that I knew what she made and was expecting the same. I did have a good bit of construction experience and was knowledgeable in mill-work.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.
