Interviewed Jul 2010 in Chicago, IL (took 6 weeks)
Like any academic institution, my experience with the interview process for a staff position at Loyola was fairly drawn out. The longest gap was between actually applying and hearing back, which was around 6 weeks. The first round was a panel interview, followed by a second round with another panel & two 1:1 interviews. There was a holiday in between rounds so again response was drawn out a little, but after my second round interview I actually got an offer a day or two before I thought I might. That was a great feeling.
The best advice I would give to someone interviewing at Loyola, or any university/college, is to be patient and show as much enthusiasm as you can muster. These are popular positions to apply to, so if you stand out enough to hear back be grateful, even if there is a long gap between applying and interviewing. And once you interview, really make the most of it.

Negotiation Details
Their first offer was actually above what I had hoped to negotiate up to, and I have to admit I froze after hearing that. Now that I've started and am realizing exactly how much work I have to do ,I realize I probably should have automatically given a higher counter, but negotiating is tough like that.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview and a Background Check.
