Interviewed Jan 2012 (took 2 weeks)
My initial communications with this company was just fine, and I am reluctant to give any other information than that. it seems as though the companies are trying to identify disgruntled employees, which is unfair. Both of the managers who interviewed me were very nice and enthusiastic about the company, but it just wasn't a good fit.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took 3 months)
I was approached by the Regional Trainer. He was building a network of talent in the area. Met a few times to inquire about the company and see if this was the right fit for me. Met a few Regional trainers and the Regional manager for interviews. 2 interviews were one on one, and one interview was a panel interview of 3 Regional trainers and managers. The process was spread over many weeks and was a bit frustrating. Since then, many of the steps have been simplified and the process goes much quicker and smoother.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Mason, OH (took 1 week)
Postscript to the previous review. My comments regarding my interview experience were read by the team at Luxottica Retail and they followed up professionally and promptly in a style and manner one would expect from a world class organization. Kudos to their social media/listening platform efforts and to the HR team.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Mason, OH (took 3 weeks)
Received initial call from recruiter. We chatted for a few minutes and she indicated I would likely be a good candidate for the role. She asked about salary expectations. I indicated what I made and what it would take to leave. She told me it was outside the range for the position and despite sounding like a good fit, this was as far as it would likely go. Alright, thank you, hang up.....five minutes later, she calls back tells me the hiring manager says compensation will not be an issue, s/he can take care of that. So the recruiter wants to schedule a phone screen to have a deeper discussion. We agree on a date/time. Morning of the phone screen, no call....wait, wait, nothing. Ok, feeling stupid, I think it's my fault, maybe I was confused.
Three days later while traveling on business, I get a phone call, it's the recruiter....she's apologizing profusely for missing our phone screen. Claims she misplaced a file folder with our meeting info. Anyway, we agree on another date/time. We meet this time, all goes well and she wants to bring me in for an interview.
Have the interview, meet with 3 Sr Directors & 1 Director. Interviews with hiring manager and shared service director go very well. Typical questions, give me an example when scenario a, b, c... all ending in good discussions. Time went very quickly. Then moved onto the Sr. Dir Brand Mkt, rhythm was not there. She boastfully shares the significant investment they've made in the website, very proud of what they've accomplished. I'm a deer in headlights, the website is a mess IMO (feels off-brand, little functionality, few products available for sale, very little product info, no user feedback, etc) and she's asked how to drive revenue out of the site. I'm thinking there's nothing to sell (but contact lenses) and no way you could convince anyone to buy from this shell of a site. Suggestions to simply replicate what other successful sites do (i.e. Vanns.com), didn't appear to be received well. Q&A from here on didn't go particuarly well, it felt like there was a personality divide occurring. Finish with the Sr. Director of Finance. Nice guy, very laid back, goes quickly and he walks me out, indicates they're going to likely make a decision quickly and I should hear something soon.
Alright week or so goes by I send a quick note to the recruiter just checking in to get feedback on the interviews and see where they're at in the hiring process. No response. Few days later, leave a VM with the recruiter, don't get called back. Okay, after an in person interview....at a minimum I would expect at least some canned email response, but I got nothing, nada, zilch.
The folks I interviewed with at Lux seemed great, even the Mkt Director who I didn't necessarily create a great rapport with, but that recruiter, wow, she's did NOT leave a favorable impression.

Interviewed Aug 2008 (took a day)
There is an online personality test and a basic drug test. Other than that I just met with the manager, was asked basic sales questions such as "What would you do if you see an employee stealing a product". I was also asked to role-play sales interactions with the manager and with any customers that came up while we were talking.

Interviewed Jul 2008 in New York, NY (took 3+ weeks)
Had to go through a phone interview, 3 1:1 Interviews just to get hired as a sales associate. The whole process took me almost a month, but i still accepted the offer. The interviews were not too formal, but the idea of having three of them is exhausting.
