I applied online - interviewed at Macy's Logistics and Operations in February 2014.
Interview Details – When you get there you will have to check in with security and they will have you wait in a little room with a bunch of other candidates. From there the HR manager will come out and introduce herself and take you upstairs to a break area and run down what will be happening. A manager or leader will then take everyone and give you a tour of the warehouse and run down the positions and areas of the warehouse and their primary functions. After the tour you'll get led back to the break area where you will be interviewed by an area manager at random, asking you basic questions and about your past employment. Afterwards they'll walk you out and explain they'll hand your employer packet to HR for further review to see if they have any positions suited for you. The whole interview takes about an hour and a half to 2 hours
Interview Question – There really wasn't any. Just basic questions on why should they hire you for the part of the warehouse they are interviewing for (you don't get to choose) and about your past employment, would you be comfortable in hot or cold temperatures, can you lift xx amount, would you be comfortable working around machinery and unloading trucks, etc etc etc Answer Question
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Macy's Logistics and Operations.
Interview Details – Very basic. If you have seen the questions once they never change. Behavior based.
Interview Question – Nothing out of the ordinary. "Tell me about a time when you disagreed with a supervisor" Answer Question
Negotiation Details – none, it's a take it or leave it style.
Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 6 days - interviewed at Macy's Logistics and Operations in October 2013.
Interview Details – I applied on-line and was directed to complete an on-line questionnaire about MS Office Skills, other basic administrative experiences and duties. At the completion, I was given dates to select for an in-person interview.
Interview Question – When I arrived for the interview, they said the position had been filled and offered a commission based (no pay) sales position. Other candidates were waiting to be interviewed for non-sales positions and it seems they were hooked as well to come in for a pitch to work on commission on the sales floor. Answer Question
Reason for Declining – I declined the offer because it was not the position I applied for. They seem to be using bait and switch to find seasonal staff.

I applied online and the process took 2+ months - interviewed at Macy's Logistics and Operations in May 2013.
Interview Details – Very good people, but not a structured process for interviewing.
I filled out a very lengthy online form and submitted my resume. I was contacted 5 weeks later. I kind of assumed they didn't like me at that point. But as it turns out, they were just "very backed up." I interviewed with an HR person from Louisiana. The interview went well. The following week, I had a 2nd interview. This was with the VP of Logistics. Very nice guy and great discussion about the position and my background. I was told they wanted me to come in for a face to face interview. This was the last I heard from them regarding the position. I contacted the HR person regarding follow up, but no response. 4 wks later, I received a letter stating they had filled the position. Very disappointed in their communications.
Interview Question – Describe DMAIC and how it applies to Supply Chain Answer Question
I applied through an employee referral and interviewed at Macy's Logistics and Operations.
Interview Details – Pretty straight forward. Interviewed, was seasonal then proved I was of value and was offered full-time.
Interview Question – Mostly just questions of my experience. I interviewed with both shipping directors who are good people and just want intelligent hard working people to fill positions. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation, get what you get and don't have a fit. But that's because it's hourly, perhaps with salary positions there is negotiation. But they have the upper hand, there is always someone else who's willing to take the position.
