Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 2 days)
Casual mixer and info session before interview. Two one on one interviews. Basic questions were asked, the interviewers were very friendly.

Reason for Declining
I decided it wasnt a position I wanted to pursue to advance my career. I also heard negative reviews from two people who worked in the same position the year before.
Other Details
I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 4+ weeks)
Started with a phone interview. Questions were all behavioral. Tell me about a time when... Next there was a skype interview with another recruiter from Cincinnati. Also, a behavioral type interview. A lot of the same questions. The interviewers just want to check for consistency and get to know the candidates a little more. Finally was a 1:1 interview with a store manager. Make sure to ask the manager more questions than they ask you.

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took a day)
An interview prep night was hosted the night before the interview by the recruiter and four macy's employees who turned out to be interviewers for the next day. They were very kind and helpful, going over what the position would entail and even gave you the format of the interview for the next day.
There's two parts of the interview: one case analysis in which you choose to train 1 employee out of 4 given. You have a 10 minute reading period to yourself then the interviewer returns and you make a case of why you chose that particular employee. The second part was a typical behavioral analysis, with questions like "When was a time you had to make a quick decision?".

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took a day)
The recruiters that I met were very nice and easy to converse with. First, I was asked to walk through my resume. The interview was primarily behavioral questions such as describing a time you had to meet a goal, a time when you made a quick decision, etc.
Afterward, there was a coaching exercise in which I got approximately 15 minutes to read a one-page synopsis about the company and selecting one of four employees you want to coach. In the last 5 minutes, it was about giving information on what you key points you got out of the handout and why you picked that employee to coach.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took 2 days)
I applied online through my unversity college portal. I was requested for an interview about 3 days after applying. I attended a pre-night event which was very casual. They had a presenter who worked for recruitment at Macy's and she simply went over the details of the internship and what would be involved. It was very casual compared to other pre-night events I have attended. The next day I had 2 one on one thirty minute interviews. The questions asked were mostly behavioral but they did ask knowledge of quantitative skills as well. Overall, it's a pretty easy interview and they don't really throw many curveballs at you. I have not heard if I have been extended an offer yet.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took 5 months)
The overall interview process was long and tedious. I got the initial interview through the school career fair. I was then informed through email to meet for an interview. That was in October. I was interviewed by two employees. One was a DM and the other was HR. After that, I didn't hear from them until January. They were interested and I had to go for round 2 which didn't go as smoothly as the first time around. Finally in March, they rejected me.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took a day)
First, they came onto our campus to recruit. You talk to them and submit your resume. Then you go to their information session. After that they pre-select you for interviews. The interview itself consisted of two 30 minutes 1:1 interview. Both of them ask situational and behavioral questions.
