    Interview Details

    Got a call from consultancy. As I was working in different location, they arranged telephonic interview. It was for about 1 hr. Questions asked from introduce yourself and then went straight into technical java questions. They were looking for lead role with experience into performance tuning etc., Covered all the keywords mentioned in resume like core java, jms, jdbc, queues, sql indexing etc.,

    I applied through a staffing agency. The process took a weekinterviewed at Manhattan Associates in August 2010.

    Interview Details

    Contacted by a person from some consultancy. Interviews were scheduled on a Saturday. Two technical rounds and one HR round. I must say HR round was more difficult than the technical rounds. I guess it was my day, may be the panel were in hurry or requirement was critical, the technical rounds were like walk in the park. For a moment, I even thought they are not serious.

    • All questions were easy in technical. HashMap, hierarchical query, statement vs preparedStatement, JSP implicit objects.

      HR questions were good, you need to handle them carefully, it was like a hiring manager round, checking on you personality.

    Initially, they put my candidature on hold due to high CTC expectations. Later negotiation went fine. Thanks to the consultancy person.

    Interview Details

    There are 3 rounds of actual interview before a discussion with the HR
    1) Written interview (Objective, Technical - Mainly about the basics albeit at a detailed level, mainly for a basic screening)
    2) Technical Discussion (With a senior resource on technology based questions and puzzles at a level more advanced than level 1)
    3) Managerial Discussion (A mix of technical/functional/behavioral discussion)
    If a candidate is through with the above rounds he/she's lined up for a discussion with the HR Manager.
