Interviewed Sep 2011 in Houston, TX (took 2 days)
The company visits our school every year, this year the interviews were conducted through the university's carreer center. We had to fill an application at the company's website and select a time slot for the interview. At the time of the interview we had to provide a copy of out transcript and then proceed with the Q&A session.
I then received an offer from them within two days and accepted the next day.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
The initial meeting with two representatives from the company and subsequent discussion led to a sit down interview where I was made to feel extremely comfortable and important. This proved to be one of the most pleasant and enjoyable interview experiences I have ever had. I was made to feel welcomed rather than judged, which allowed me to be more honest and better describe my qualifications.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
Confusion between HR and the university career center lead to not being able to schedule interview online. I was contacted by an MRO employee saying I would be contacted to schedule an interview, but was never called. Luckily I was able to schedule an interview the night before at the information session. However, they did not have my resume on file, so I had to provide them with a copy. The information session and interview went very well. The only problem was the confusion leading up to that point.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
The interview process went very smoothly. People were nice and genuine. Only thing I would change is the Geologist who interviewed me was rather intraverted and awkward at times throughout the interview.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
The interview process through the university is very accommodating and information for a student. A few representatives from the company, including recent graduates, gave a presentation with an overview of the company and gave time for any questions. Time slots were chosen ahead of time by the students, and the next day I had an 30 minute interview with a human resources representative and a geologist. They asked me questions and gave me time to ask my own one on one questions about anything. The next day I was contacted by one of my interviewers and offered the position, and given a week to make my decision.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
I signed up for an interview on the campus website. After being accepted for an interview, I scheduled an on campus appointment. I then interviewed with a Marathon Oil engineer on the college campus. I had one, 30-45 minute interview in which I was asked a variety of questions about why I wanted the job. I was also given a few behavioral questions. The questions were very reasonable; there were no curveballs or truly unexpected subjects that came up during the interview.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)
I began by applying online for an interview before the career fair. I was notified that I had been accepted for an interview one day after the career fair. I made a stop by Marathon's booth during the career fair and visited for a while. The gentleman that I talked to was very personable, but did not know much about my interview. I knew that I would be able to visit more with them during the interview and continued on my way. My interview was amazing. I was so comfortable and was able to answer the questions that were asked easily. I was able to show who I really was in my answers and was noticed that the man interviewing me was very interested in what I was doing besides school and other things I was involved in. This showed me that Marathon's employees are top of the line workers who care about people as well as doing their job correctly. Be yourself in the interview! That's the best advice I could ever give.

Interviewed Sep 2010 (took a day)
An application had to be completed online and then I had to wait to be selected from my initial application to be able to sign up for an interview through the Career Center website at my university. The day before my interview Marathon held an information session at the university where they discussed the different departments and the typical internship experience (I highly recommend attending this session if you are selected for an interview because it allows you to meet one of the persons who will be interviewing you the next day). The interview lasted approximately 30 minutes and was behavioral based and I was interviewed by a manager in the department I would be interning with and also a human resources employee (University Relations).

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Houston, TX (took 4+ weeks)
Marathon was very open and communicative during the interview process. At OCI, they provided frank impressions of the work/life balance and were realistic about the time-line and what went into their decision making process. They were accommodating of my time and travel when scheduling the in-house interview. During the interview, I was given a tour of the building (beautiful!) and the benefits were explained. It was welcoming and warm, the facilities were very impressive. I interviewed with two sets of people. They asked challenging questions and pressed me about my career goals. They tested me on my knowledge of the industry and current trends. They explained positions available and the opportunities I would be given if I came to work for them. After the interview process, there was some delay in a final decision. I heard from the recruiters often and never felt forgotten. Ultimately, they made an offer and I accepted.
